![]() Got a Q-code 61 yesterday on my C8H. Machine will not boot, and there is no output/activity on my monitor. Tried reseating RAM and different configurations, reseating GPU, and clearing the CMOS. None of that worked. Will try some other stuff tonight. |

![]() Did the new bios, no change. Well. I get to about 4316 mhz vs 4296 (all cores). But realistically, still not 4.4, and no change.

![]() You are not supposed to get all core clocks to the advertised boost speed as it's only for single core nevertheless reviewers noted that with the Abba agesa you could get 2 cores 4 threads to boost at the advertised speed now.

![]() Installed the new abba bios last night on my board, its very stable, some benchmarks show improvement some are flat. I love the fact AMD is adding performance while the vulnerability patches for Intel are slowing their cpu's down. I have never been more convinced I made the correct choice going back to AMD. |

![]() ![]() dream on that NV would wait for AMD and maybe have to lower prices 18 months from 1080 ti to 2080 ti 18 months more to March to April 16 2020 as cyberpunk 2077 hits April 16 I bet they won't pass up 2077 & ray tracing selling lots of very high priced cards this thing looks like that with RT it will be Crysis 1 on steroids and need a 3080 ti at 4k to get 40 to 45 FPS wish I didn't pre order as it is sure to come with a new 3080 ti ![]() Last edited by bill dennison : Sep 14, 2019 at 11:32 PM. |

most that will buy a 2080 ti have by now . and they have been on a 18 month cycle for a few years now with a few blips a little longer when a node failed then I don't think anyone will be able to turn on all RT settings on 2077 at 4k and most likely 1440p and most will not want to wait to play it at 4k/1440p max settings with full RT and I don't think it will have Crossfire and SLI and how many will buy a 2080 ti for it if it tanks it in reviews Last edited by bill dennison : Sep 15, 2019 at 05:53 PM. |

![]() So I plunged in and bought a 3900X, hope it would fare better and last as long as this 5930K (with a somewhat cursed Asus x99 deluxe motherboard that somehow killed another 5930K and 4 sticks of RAM over the years). I'd be using gigabyte Aorus master this time, because gigabyte has the best hardware and bios support this time around.

![]() I've had a frustrating month. Labour Day weekend my computer stopped working. It would start, then just before it was supposed to start booting an OS, it would power off, then restart, and keep failing. Sometimes I could get to the BIOS, sometimes I wouldn't even get video. Tried multiple PSUs, tried with my video card, tried with only the onboard video (my processor is a i5-6600k). Bought a cheapo stick of RAM to test. Same result. Figured it's probably the motherboard. Same day (Sunday morning) I bought a similar used motherboard for $50, shipping Newfoundland (I'm in Ontario). Dude waits until the Friday, almost a full week, before sending it. And he waited just long enough for the mail to get delayed because the east coast got hit by Dorian. I didn't get the motherboard until today (18 days later). And it doesn't work. Same problem. Probably means the CPU is what's dead. I've been using a passively cooled Zotac ZBOX for almost a month now. So **** it, I bought a Ryzen 5 3600 with a MSI B450 Tomahawk. Hopefully Amazon gets it to me by Friday. |

![]() Yeas those wanting that 7nm stuff might want to grab it now as they are selling out and TSMC has pushed back orders 3 fold to 6 months as they cant satisfy demand. https://www.fudzilla.com/news/49415-...chip-shortages Quote:

![]() I think I got an utter shitty 3900x, cant even hit 4.6 GHz on any cores in single thread workload even with Abba agesa bios. Also the temp is high when running cinebench r20, like 80 celcius high.

![]() Corsair H115i Platinum, yes I'll try remount ing the cooler, but I also live in a hot tropical area, anyway it's not like I'll be grinding this cpu at 100% load 24/7 and we know the performance doesn't differ much, so I'd just move on with it.

![]() Zen 2 tends to run pretty hot. I think a lot of it is simply due to the smaller process. There's a lot of heat concentrated in a smaller area. You'll probably see a bit higher temps than you were used to for that reason. It's not necessarily a heatsink problem, but just the transfer of heat out of the die. |

![]() I could and I just solved that, the icue software is pretty ridiculous and not so intuitive... Anyway it seem that no matter what I do the full load temp doesn't bulge much, so I'd just accept this and move on. I did see hwinfo recorded one of my cores peak clockspeed exceeded 4.6ghz but only under cool room temperature. What I haven't tried is to actually set the voltage manually, I did try negative voltage offset and it helped the temp, but if I offset it too much below it would lower cinebench scores.

![]() May want to be careful with other programs and your corsair one. I had an issue running HW info with it in the background that stopped the fan curve from applying and after 45 minutes of gaming my FPS would get sluggish and choppy and I'd see a temp of 100c on the chip. Instantly shut it down, checked all fans, etc. couldn't find anything wrong. Happened again a couple of days later when trying to troubleshoot something else. Did some Google Fu and couldn't find anything until I caught a line of some dudes signature on another forum. Sure enough, stress test with both software open and the fans wouldn't budge from their low RPM setting. Have zero problems individually, but together something is up. Was aware of the warning at ryzen 3 launch, but didn't expect that sort of issue, worse I figured would be incorrect reporting, not nearly frying the chip. This is with my 100iv2 and the corsair link software, not sure about the iCue one though.
