I currently can do 5GHz - 5.2GHz without even thinking about it on 6 cores. Hell Davich has had his 7820X at 4.8GHz. Pretty sure if he wasn't using that POS ThermalTake cooler he'd reach 5GHz.

Isn't the current rumor that AMD is doing the 7nm ryzen chips at TSMC anyway?

LOL, sure. Not even Intel has 5GHz+ stock clocked chips out in the wild.

Hopefully the next iteration of Ryzen fixes the weak memory controller.

Imagine if you will a 16 core / 32 thread AMD threadripper 2.0 running at 5 Ghz on that 7nm process, and using the same power as today's 14nm version and better still, not pulling an Intel and still running on current X399 boards, while still costing way less than Intel's high end......



AMD is back in the game....

Never mind the meltdown bug not even affecting AMD chips, and only one version of spectre might affect it.......It'll take a few years for Intel to engineer those problems out of their chip designs.....
