![]() Only other option is RGB modding. This is the website you want to read on that: https://www.retrorgb.com/snes.html |

![]() Thanks! I'll take a look. If I decide to go that route, I'll likely source another SNES to do it. No way I'll mod my original from when I was a kid. ![]()

![]() To be clear, as the RetroRGB link states, the original model SNES consoles support RGB output as long as you have the right cable. You don't need to "mod" anything with the original SNES. This is the cable you would use: https://retro-access.com/collections...ed-cable?aff=3 But you're heading down a bit of a rabbit hole with RGB, as RGB output will get you near equal quality to the Analogue FPGA SNES console but only if you also get an upscaler like the Framemiester to connect to modern HDTV's. If you have access to a Sony PVM however you can direct connect. But they are super hard to find and not HD obviously. But they look awesome. Anyways I'll just let you research on your own and decide if its something you want to get into. I've avoided RGB simply because the good upscalers are expensive, and I'm holding out for the Analogue consoles to come back in stock. |

![]() Ahhhh, gotcha. Yeah, clearly haven't looked into it much yet. I still have the page up and haven't even had a chance to glance at it. Different than what I was thinking it would be then. Not sure I'll go that route. Will research it a bit when I can.

![]() Personally I would just hold out for Analogue to get the Super NT back in stock. Its a shame this past year has been so crap for trying to buy anything and everything tech. ![]() |

![]() Yeah, looked at a few of the options and none of them really get me excited. I'll just keep waiting for the Super NT. ![]() I put off the Final Fantasy marathon because once I play through FF3, the next 3 are SNES. Maybe I'll get them for PC for now and collect the game carts later and continue on. Don't know yet.

![]() I'm so glad I got my NES top loader modded with the Hi-Def kit years ago before it got so in demand and expensive. But on the other hand I remember seeing the Super NT black and clear versions in stock many times but passed on them because I wanted the classic color version. Looking back I wish I just grabbed the black one. Ah well. |

![]() Yeah unlike the SNES, you'd have to mod the NES for RGB unfortunately. Luckily if you have a good CRT like a Trinitron, even composite looks pretty good. I still have my front loader NES on my Trinitron by composite and it looks fine to me. I like to play on it sometimes rather than my HDMI NES top loader because it reminds me of what the games looked like when I was a kid. |

![]() I'm in the opposite mode of collecting...I've realized that I have way too much hardware and games that I rarely or never play any more and am considering getting rid of a whole pile of stuff. I have regretted selling off old systems and games in the past but truthfully they just never get used because I don't have the time |

![]() Browsing EBay tonight and man...the amount of Reproduction SNES games is getting nuts. It's actually taking work now to sort out authentic vs repro carts. It use to be only on the more expensive games, but now it's on everything as cheap as $15-$20.
