Why, from the day our forefathers fell asleep [in death], all things are continuing exactly as from creation’s beginning.” 5) For, according to their wish, this fact escapes their notice [...]

8) However, let this one fact not be escaping YOUR notice, beloved ones, that one day is with Jehovah as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day. 9) Jehovah is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with YOU because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance.

Why should unicorns exists, for the same reason people dream of going faster then the speed of light. The faith that there is more than what can be seen and known right now. It may not be big foot or even an unicorn, but eventually someday something so amazing will be found that it will set everything that we know as facts and that we deeply believe on its ear.

I don't see any reason why they should have to exist, but also I don't see any reason that would absolutely prevent equines from evolving a horn like a Narwhal.

So basically I wouldn't discount them as a possibility, but I don't see why they would be required to exist.

There really is no reason why unicorns should exist. They don't fill any type of necessity. There is no need for unicorns. Some might say that we need mythical beasts with magic powers, but that just sort of falls in the category of a creature that is in balance with everything else endowed with supernatural powers in order for it to be able to effect change upon our reality. So in that sense, the format of said creature or being is really irrelevant. Whether it is a unicorn or not, if we feel they should exist it is for the same reasons that any other supernatural being should exist... a being that is connected to the "good" of the universe.... in balance with reality so to speak, with powers of the beyonder in order for it to have a lasting positive effect on our marred reality.
