Yes, I have the 4K versión, it has a 7.1.4 track

I just found that my UHD player was not on passthrough ...

The bluray player does not decode Atmos and has to be on passthrough if I want that track, I just tried the demos again and now it's working fine

No, they will come later when I build a true HT downstairs in the basement. ITs an openfloor upstairs and it'd be a bit goofy on our layout.

I know. I had an old LG soundbar hooked up to it as a temporary solution, but it's been in boxes for years and moved a lot. So while it would connect and work, the wireless connection to the subwoofer kept dropping out randomly and the HDMI ARC connection would require rebooting the soundbar a third of the time to get it to recognize and connect. I just got tired of fussing with it and abandoned that soundbar setup.

I've only had this TV for about a week now, so it's not like this is a permanent setup. It's still a work-in-progress. Right now I've been using headsets for the Xbox and the PS4.

For a new sound setup I'm open to hearing thoughts or recommendations. I wouldn't want to have to justify spending more than $1k on something.

Makes sense - my gaming/PC area is a small attic room with a kneewall, so with desks and setup space is at a premium, if I want it to look decent anyway.

hmm at a grand would be high end home theatre in a box type system. It all boils to down to can you actually use a good one? In that i mean is there other ppl in the house, close neighbours etc.(Looks like you got kids and live in a house by your pic)

No kids here. Those Marvel comics book tins on the wall are mine.

I wouldn't be able to use a good home theater system. I'm guessing a 2.1 with some bookshelves is about as good as I'd need. Or maybe a soundbar though I feel like saying that out loud is likely to upset people. I just don't know where I'd put a receiver for a 2.1 system and still keep things clean like it is now. It's a house, but neighbors aren't far away so I don't usually turn it up too loud.

yup its a big boys sound bar. Think it weighs 50 odd pounds too but worth every nickel. Sound quality is phenomenal and believe it or not its over a decade old now. Good audio equipment might last a lifetime

I don't think I've ever posted in this sub forum even though I'm pretty big into home theater.

So here is my setup from the front.

The room I'm using is about 15 x 20 with a vaulted ceiling that goes from 8
feet to 12 feet high.

There is really only two good seats in the room for watching movies but 4 of them are serviceable. I have 6 seats in total as the couch wraps around the left side of the room but the two left side seats are more for conversation rather than watching movies.

I tore down my custom cooling loop and replaced it with a Corsair AIO H115 for CPU. With a single GPU I plan to go back to air cooling for the graphics card which is a godsend. I'm so tired of messing with waterblocks and coolant. My PC should look very simplistic and clean compared to the picture here.
