Just ran in to a couple guys on a hardcore server that were stat padding. Sitting back in their spawn and repairing vehicles they hurt. They were getting around 15-19k per round.

Well if that is their idea of fun then I suppose its up to them, pointless in my eyes but each to their own.

Loving the MP, didnt think I would but the sound and environment really gets the heart pumping. Not really DM fan more like the rush and the destroy thingy modes.

Why would anyone even bother to statpad in such a stupid and boring way when DICE implemented a legitimate way to statpad in BF3 - 64p Metro Conquest.

i know you're being sarcastic but stat padding with engineers is just far more efficient. i read an article on kotaku a few days ago where they said that one player would spawn with an eod bot, the other would damage it and the first guy would repair it. that earned him 100,000 points per game. you cannot get close to that with 64p metro

Its true though. Repairing in BF3 is completely broken. The rate at which you repair (and thus get the 10 points) is something like 5x too high and there is little to no cooldown. Last night I got behind a guy that waited, and we did very well until we finally got hit with and entire squad of AT.

Most of the time I'm getting bitched at for not repairing a tank because I'm getting shot in the face at the time. That's usually what causes me to miss anything in chat, since I've ran into a few people with the attitude of 'do what you can to allow me to rack up a score while you die horribly over and over and not work towards winning the round'. Yeah, I'm a bitter onliner.

No clue about the chat though, it seems slapped on there like an afterthought.

Had a really good match on canals last night, as sniper and support of all things. I like the way that map is designed. Infantry fighting in the containers or the train yard. Sniping from the hills or the bridge. Vehicles moving in between although it probably is a bit cramped for jets? Been a long time since I've played a mp game that feels this good. Admittedly it's not consistently good but when things are going right there is no better mp game in the last few years. I wonder if not rushing out a patch is a good thing, allow the community to come up with counters maybe. The delay is probably more related to the fact that they have to get back to karkand out in december.

Looks like Karkand is going to be 5 flags. Which means that whole second half of the map will be gone and they will just force a 5th into the left side (there was only 4 there originally). I know this says for consoles, but at this point we can be certain that Dice won't go out of there way to create a larger map for the PC. They better not screw up wake and oman though...

I figured they would find some way to goof it up. The map design in Battlefield 3 is just full of questionable decisions.

Am I missing something? Nothing about that article indicates a smaller map (although it wouldn't surprise me if it is).

Nope, the console guys get stuck with fewer flags. The "Conquest Large" game mode that you see in the server filter is the one that gives the most flags. The regular "Conquest" game mode gives you the console equivalents.

Playing the single player, getting tired of these QTE and animations, just let me shoot damnit. Also I havent checked but is there auto aim on by default? I know for certain I missed a lot but they always end up dead anyways

I wonder what resolution the game even runs on the console? I'm sure it's 720p, but I bet it's up scaled.
