erek is still being judged by the masses

Default Engadget liveblogging from Apple's iPad 2 event tomorrow... be there!

Tune in tomorrow to see all of the action about the iPad 2 tomorrow at Engadget

There's really no telling what could happen tomorrow at Apple's little event. Sure, the company could talk about its success with iOS devices, how well the iPad has sold, and then introduce a brand new version of the wildly popular tablet... but maybe there'll be surprises too. We can't say for sure at this point, but that's okay, because come 10AM PST (1PM EST), we're going to be delivering all the news as it happens with the industry's best liveblog right here on Engadget.

(please visit the source link for the direct url to follow the coverage)...

Ok, so let's predict the obvious new 'features'.

Front VGA /Rear 3.0mp cam
I'm gonna say 512mb ram
same screen
More space for all those pics you don't store on it lol
Revamped OS
at least a speed bump
Facetime, but really who uses it?
Same price, but new 128GB model for 999

Dual core seems a bit of a stretch, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I think just a refresh, then the eBay iPads will flood the internet.

Never been a fan of liveblogging. It's just so much hype. I can just tune in about an hour later and get the whole story.

This thread wasn't enough?

http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33974275

Or the inevitable Razeus thread where he slags off the iPad 2 but secretly buys one?

I'm loving the spin Apple is putting on everything as Steve talks, especially the competition. Because, you know, with a one year head start you deserve credit, but then talking about the competition as if they should be equal to where you are with a one year head start is kinda funny - Apple has failed to have hardware, features, etc. vs. the competition that had a head start and Apple caught up, but you don't hear them mention that....

The repeated use of "magical" is making me sick. They keep smack talking the competition, which is boring cheerleading and kinda misleading.

Finally the hardware. Dual core A5. Yea thinner than an iphone 4!

I love the '100' Honeycomb apps bit, as if you can't run non-Honeycomb software on Honeycomb natively, without stupid pixel doubling. Also, the term 'post-PC' is hilarious. Maybe 'post-Mac' is more fitting since the Mac still can't make gains in market share and Lion hints that they are moving more towards the iOS sides of things, but saying 'post-PC' is hilarious, the PC isn't going anywhere.

Wow, 'Year of the copycats' Apple, so full of themselves. Funny enough, they put the Honeycomb bee up there again, that's not a copycat, it's a revolution.

Google putting out a tablet? Copycat = ok.

Android 3.0 a copycat? Not so much - it's in some ways better than iOS 4.

Still no widescreen. Must be waiting for iPad3. Boo.

Lighter is good, but no mention of how much lighter yet. 0.2 lbs?

Same price is going to put the hurt on much of the competition.

And engadget crumbles - no service errors galore for me

A5 is confirmed as dual-core, at least the spec bump is more than just modest. 9x graphics performance though? Will have to see it to believe it, would also love to see it compared to Tegra 2, that platform thus far has the strongest graphics core out.

HDMI out... now for an additional $40!

(no mention of how Xoom has hdmi standar port built in as part of the device when comparing costs to slam the competition... factor this in and the table they showed starts to change)

The blue color was clearly chosen for visibility during the presentation. If I got one (huh) it'd be black leather.

Yeah, it's awful and serves no protection except the screen. It's just a flexible cover. I hate it.

Side switch preference, bless their ****ing hearts. About time they fixed something they shouldn't have changed in the first place. Faster browser is nice too.
