Default are the MSI AMD chipset drivers different from the AMD supplied drivers?

Simple question...

Are the drivers supplied by MSI for their AMD chipset motherboards signifigantly different then the ATI supplied ones. I am doing a reinstall of windows and I am trying to decide which to use for my MSI 785GM-e65.

The ATI supplied drivers are newer but I am not sure if MSI made any signifigant modifications to the chipset that would cause problems.

No, the chipset is standard, though MSI may add other chips on the board that need drivers (for example USB 3.0, eSATA, Network). Use the AMD drivers.

Agreed.

If MSI has their own stuff (and they probably do), it won't be packaged with the chipset drivers, though their installer CD may link them all together to install in a chain. If you really want to see, you can either use their CD or the drivers they supply online, then install the AMD drivers over top of them. Should give you the full gamut of drivers for your board in the latest revisions, though with a little extra stuff installed.

Well thanks guys. I went with the ATI supplied drivers. They seem to be working properly so far.

@DajMasta
I was looking at the drivers on MSI's website. I normally just toss the driver discs in a file cabinet and forget about them. I didn't want to install anything over anything else as I think that may have had something to do with my system not working properly and thus the reinstall.
