well, it is a Mobilty 9000 IGP, and the new modder supposedly has it, but i have not been able to find it. In the link with the update, he gives an explanation saying how to do it manually, and it still has not worked, as i install it, it keeps saying INF error

I have an Acer 8100 travel mate, and I tried those omega ones, locks up when it loads somthing in the os.

It will work with any system manufacturer. Yes, there is a limitation to which mobility product will work. If you extract the inf, it lists more than what is currently supported.

Hey guys
Well if the new drivers support the modern chipsets as it states on the ATI's page so how come that my recently purchased (3 days) MSI megabook based (Turion proc and mobility x700 with xpress 200p chipset) system purchased from buyxg.com had problems with it.

It would work very well when pluged into the wall, but as soon as the AC power was cutoff it would loose the picture and only the pointer would move, and after a restart the screen would all be black, with mouse moving again and system functioning, but evrything being pitch black.

As soon as I went to the drivers provided by MSI evrything functions properly.

Sorry to hear about your problems spetcnaz, I have a newish Gateway and the new Cat 6.1s work brilliantly with my X700 mobility, I can't see why it wouldn't work with your megabook. Have you got the ati uninstaller from their site, removed all traces of the old drivers and then tried to install the latest cat mob drivers?

If you haven't I'd give that a go and see if you get a better result, it may have been a clash with a couple of files in the different driver packages...

Just updated and 3DMark2005 went from 862 to 1397 points!!! Previous driver was dated at February 2004.

Thats with AOPEN noteboot, ATI mobility 9700 and Pentium-M Dothan 1.8 GHz.

I just hope it doesn't overclock it, as my sister will kill me

Any word on official X1400 support (or any X1K card for that matter)? Mobility Cat 6.5 just came out and it still has no support for the X1400 in Windows XP. Surprisingly ATi does offer Windows Vista and Linux drivers that do offer support for the X1400 (and other Mobility X1K cards)... a minority OS and an unreleased OS. I don't wanna keep using modded drivers and prefer official support.

I just installed the mobile catalyst with my x1600.
Release note is not up to date.

Well, it seems the best bet of all neglected mobility users are still Omega drivers. Incidentally the newest set based on cat 6.5 don't seem to be bad.

I would recommend installing them without the custom Tray-tools, and installing an independant version of the tray-tools instead.

wtf, does anyone know if 9.2 has issues with Mobility Modder ? It's the first release which didn't work for me at all (I mean the display driver upgrade from to 8.582 from 8.573, newer CCC runs fine) since I bought my laptop (7.12)

it has a HD 2300 and Vista HP 32bit

I made the amateurish mistake of attempting to update Catalyst for my mobility radeon 4570, hoo-boy. 48 hours, about 5 system restore points, too many installations and uninstallations to count and one reinstalled OS later, I gave up. You win, AMD. Keep your latest drivers.

AMD are never going to read this post; this is not an official AMD ATi forum. You should use the Catalyst Crew Feedback form, instead.
