Mouse Professional Gaming Mice: Razer DeathAdder vs. Microsoft Habu

Let the fight begin!

I guess no one will argue my point if I say there are only three serious contenders on the market of high-quality gaming PC mice, namely Logitech, Microsoft, and Razer.

And the Redmond-headquartered software giant had joined forces with the California-based Razer to develop the recently released Microsoft Habu. Rather oddly, it is a Razer product, the company’s first asymmetric mouse DeathAdder, which is the closest market rival to the Habu.

So, I’ll try to compare them to see which is better. Most exciting is that these two mice are shaped identically, but have quite different technical characteristics.

Well, I still think that a gaming mouse should not have side buttons at all as there is always risk of your pressing them accidentally when you lift the mouse up above the pad.
Uh, couldn't he just... not bind the side buttons to any function? Would that not achieve the same thing? Personally, I like having thumb buttons, thank you so very much. In fact, I like having three of them.

Didn't read all of it, but I did read the final page. I've been using the MX500 for quite a while, and love the feel of it.

I didn't know you can "overclock" a USB port though. Currently, I have my mouse plugged into one of my G15's USB ports. Maybe I need to rethink that.

Man, I need one of those mice. With the exception of the Logitech 2020, it is not stated whether a mouse would be good for high sensitivity players.

The Razer mice are just .

Why not.. learn to play instead of trying to get "better mice"?

In essence, L2P :P

I always figured there was more importance in the comfort of a mouse than specs...

It seems everybody wants to have a super-rez mouse, but seems to nobody reallize that after about 600dpi it is useless. Since the tracking resolution is basically matched to your display rez and mouse acceleration speed, the only way to take advantage of the hi resolutions of these mice is to set the pointer speed ridiculously high or increase the display resolution (your mouse moves on your screen pixel by pixel, so there's no magic way to target in between them).

Personally, I use the razer pro mouse and couldn't be happier. The software is next to useless, but the sheer comfort makes up for everything else (though I'd go for the gamer's black model if you're a smoker -- get's stained fast).
