I doubt they will anytime soon seeing as how ATI's new mid-range cards suck.

If ATI decides to release some X850 variant in their mid-range then I would look for Nvidia to bring something new out sooner.

If you really don't want to wait you can find X800XTs and 6800GTs fairly cheap now. Both are great cards that smoke the "mid-range" that both companies offer now.

Scary... isn't it?

Yes, the 6800GT is currently considered upper mid range when compared to the GF7GT. And since an actual mid range GF7 would drastically cut the price of a 6800GT... I doubt Nvidia is anxious to release it just yet. And as mentioned, ATI is slow to compete right now so they have no reason to.

The 6800 GT and X800 XL, PRO, GTO, and non Pro are all Mid range now. By next year they will be low end.

but I don't care. It should be good enough for a couple of years. Besides, I think I am over my graphics addiction. I just want the games I play to be fun.

Funny how ati and nvidia don't seem to notice that alot of the time their "mid range" cards are landing well short of last year's high end leftovers.

6800GT or X800XL is the mid-range you need

No need for Nvidia to release 7600 GT or similiar...YET

They still have to sell all those 6800's chips!
