Cool Who is a BIG FAT ATi Fanboy?

I sure as Hell am, I started (in 3D) with the damn Rage Pro card, this thing was Hell compared to Radeon, Bur I talked all bad things to good, justifying mt choice.

Well it was a good choice, it rocked at it's Time, it was the first card which could do 32 bit rendering, not fast, but it could do it.
It made me the tweaker I am today.

I got the Radeon, and when it went *BOOM* because of short wireing I got me a Geforce 2, yes it was fast in 16 Bit, but I couldn't care less it looked to crappie and gave it to my bro, and got me another Radeon. I talk all of it's problems good, and I cann't help it, I hate people bashing this great card because of a few flaws, but ATi did a good job kicking it's lilly @$$ to the High End Segment. I hope ATi continues to build good cards like this. Because first it was" You need a 3DFX card to play that game" and now it is "Ya need a GEFORCE to play that game" no dudes, ya need a Good 3D card to play the games, and ATi is also among these GOOD card makers.

My cards:
Rage IIc
Rage Pro
Rage 128
Fury MAXX
(Geforce 2)
Radeon

and when it's available I'll get me a Radeon 2
and GameCube (I know the Flipper was doen by ArtX, but none the less)

That doesn't make me a ATi Fanboy, But talking all it's flaws good and sticking to it's products, trusting the companny

Any Losers Like me out there, Who just cann't help it and always defend ATi? Let me know

I have only owned 2 ati cards. First of mine was a rage pro and I didn't like the drivers for it back then. Then I went for nvidia and used TNT1. I also used voodoo 2 before that. But then I decided to give Ati a new chance and it was worth it. I saw the light of the ati and will never touch a geforce now . The colors and image quality of radeon beat any GF 100-0

I've had 4 video cards in my life time.

ATi VGA Wonder (Oh yeah.)
ATi Rage Pro Turbo 8meg PCI (Best 200 bucks i ever spent.)
Voodoo 3 2000 (Given to me for free.)
ATi Radeon

The VGA Wonder was my first video card.. back when Doom was out..
When Mechwarrior was out.. Wing Commander.. Those were the good old
days when there were a LOT of games that were fun..

My Rage Pro Turbo.. yeah, i agree about the drivers, but I still
loved it non-the-less.. going from Software mode to OpenGL in Quake2
was AMAZING.. how smooth it was, how fast it was.. man, that was
the best feeling in the world.. i was one of the lucky ones to have
NO problems with it, and be able to play every game that has ever
come my way (ie Unreal Tournament in OpenGL @ 30fps, high skin, medium
world detail.)..

Voodooo 3 2000.. Even more faster.. but colours were washed out from
my Rage Pro.. but i didn't mind too much because the games were
faster, though it didn't last too long until I got my Radeon..

My Radeon.. how i've missed the vivid colours.. and now i have a nice
card that can last me lots of years to come in the future.. some of
you may say that my little old 450 might be hell.. but it's the
best i've seen, and it's good enough for me!

This Radeon is actually the first ATI card i have owned. I almost got the fury maxx or whatever it was(dont remember now), but as i was in Comp USA looking at cards i saw a ton of people returning theirs so i didnt get it.
My first card was the diamond viper v330, then i upgraded that to the 770 when it came out. From there i had a twin 12 MB Voodoo2 setup in SLI. Those ran well and kept me happy. After that i grabbed a geForce1, then upgraded to a GF2GTS, and now to a Radeon.
I had never bought ATI products before, but all the time i was using my GF2 i just couldnt get the Radeon out of my mind. 64 MB? DX8 features? Best Visual Quality?Even the cool box art was alluring me to this product. When i started seeing it get rave reviews in magazines i knew i wouldnt be happy until i got one and tried it out.
I took my son to the store and we grabbed hold of the black demon box and went home. I removed my GF2 and placed it in its own box, ready to go back into my comp if radeon didnt cut it. Radeon not only was able to "cut it" but left me so happy about my purchase that i GAVE away my GF2(that i had only bought 3months before or so)to a friend.
My Radeon runs everygame i play without fail. Runs them fast and looks awesome.
For a first impression the Radeon has amade a mark on me.This is the first time i have held back on the "newest " product(GF3) because i know i want to see what ATI has coming in the R200. Go ATI!

I always owned the best trouble-safe cards since my first one ( a TRIDENT 9660 512kb!!) :

December-1995> S3 Trio 64V+

June-1996> 3Dfx Voodoo 1 (Diamond Monster 3D). RIP 3Dfx I always loved ya

don't.remember-1998> ATI [email protected] 4Mb PCI for 2D (but already great visual quality in 3D) so i didn't use it much.

January-1999> TNT 1 (STB Velocity 4400) 16Mb

September-2000> Radeon 64 VIVO, i choosed it after reading a lot of documentation on hardware sites. First i had regrets for raw speed but after having seen a GF2Pro running, all my regrets vanished

Never sacrify visual for speed or you will never enjoy what developpers did. Radeon is definitely one of the best video cards out.

I've had a few graphics cards myself. I'll start at the "real" ones; the ones that I purposly bought.

CirrusLogic GD-something VLB (ouch)
ATI Mach64
Matrox Mystique
ATI RageIIc PC2TV
RealVision Voodoo1 add-on
Matrox Millenium
Voodoo3 2000
ATI Radeon 32MB DDR

and lets look ahead in time a few months (hopefully)
Hercules <some weird name here> R200 ATI Radeon2

So, I don't know if I'm a BIG FAT ATi Fanboy yet, but I'm getting there

I'm not really an ATI fanboy. I got a Radeon after 3dfx died (I had a Voodoo5), because I didn't want to use a discontinued product from a dead company...
Since the Radeon is doing OK (with a few small issues), better than my GeforceDDR that I had before the Voodoo5, which locked up every 10-60 minutes, I'll probably get the Radeon2 when it's out.

Unfortunately I have used only 1 ATI card in my life...and a love it (I guess you could say I have been converted) Here goes the rest:

-Matrox Mystique

-Creative Labs Banshee (3dfx Banshee)

-Diamond V770 Ultra (Nvidia TNT2 Ultra)

-Hercules 3D Prophet DDR/DVI (Nvidia GeForce 256) (I could never get this to work right, so I swapped the V770 back in)

-ATI RADEON 64DDR ViVo retail (My current card, and probably my favorite despite a few mine driver related problems)

I will stick to ATI for my next card (either R200 or R300), but my next important purchase will have to be a cpu/mobo/ram combination so I can actually get full use of those new cards.

I wouldn't say fat but I am a ATi fan. I think that the fact they can actually give Nvidia a real run for its money is great. The 1st ATi card I owned was a Rage Pro, worked fine but I never played games then. I then got the Voodoo Rush which I thought was sweet Then I got a Voodoo 2 add on. Then a TNT2 Ultra (Asus). Then I bought the Radeon 32MB DDR. Of course I loved the Radeon so much I thought "Hey, I can get some more FPS from the SE!" So I went and bought that. Anyways, the SE rules, kicks the crap outta and schmelly Gefarce out there in my area. I feel sorry for all my friends with GF2's, hehe poor b4571d5.

Talking Very Satisfied

I have owned 2 ATI Cards. The first being the Expert 128, and now the RADEON 64. I have never been happier. Plays every game I hit it with, no problems. The driver's were some issue in the beginning but now with the 7115's, it's fine. If I ever have to use DVD or TV/OUT I may be forced to change these driver's, but for now bring on the games!!!, Keep it up ATI!!!

Default SASQUACH R FANBOY 2

Yes, i started life on a trident 1mb 2d card.
Can i say that was the biggeest piece of garbage i ever had.
Anywyas, playing 2d games was ok, but got a little crappy later on since all i had to work with was a lousy P166.
Soon i got FF7, then the thing was totally crap for it. 2dmode just plain sucked.
I went out and bought a xpert98 even when all them other cards were out (TNT, BANSHEE) but they were beyond my budget and voodoo1's required a 2d card witch i didnt want to keep.

AHHH the good ol feeling of being in 3d for FF7 (Cept for the movies, but i lived with that till one of the last drivers ever made fixed it). And anything else came after that, and i told my buddies that Q2 looked awesome in 3d (Abit slow cuz my comp sucked and the ragepro ICD was heavily CPU dependant)
But non the less it rox. I still played in 2d for its fasterness.

Anywho, once my Cel533 came along everything just flew on the rage pro.
And soon i went the Radeon route. AHHH much better.
I have some wierd feeling inside me saying NOT to buy a Geforce even though i know they are good.
Must be the Canadian thing going on

ATI wasn't even a consideration until the Radeon cards. Until then, they were known for buggy drivers rarely updated, poor support, and not the best cards for gaming. There was always something else out there that was just better.

I'll get any card that does what I'm looking for, whether it be ATI, Nvidia, Matrox, 3dfx.

Started with a 286 16mhz, 1mb ram, 40gb hd system.
It had a Trident 512kb isa video card.

The rest from then:
- 1mb Cirrus Logic Vesa Local Bus
- 2mb Trident VLB
- 2mb S3 pci
- 2mb S3 Virge DX pci
- Diamond Stealth 3D Pro pci
- Diamond Stealth S220 Rendition V2100 4mb pci (my all time favourite)
- Voodoo 1
- Ati Rage IIc (threw it away cos it sucked big time!)
- Magic Banshee AGP
- Generic TnT1 AGP
- Magic TnT2 m64 AGP
- Radeon 32mb DDR

Also my system, 286 16mhz (THE BEST at its time, when others were only 12mhz!)-> IMB 486 SX 25mhz -> Cyrix [email protected] -> K6 [email protected] -> Celeron [email protected] -> Duron [email protected]

I often skip on the latest and greatest, wait til the prices fall. And usually skip a generation before upgrading..

Lightbulb

I'm a big ATI fan. I'll definitely stick with the Radeon line as long as they keep the image quality high.
Here's my list.

1. Trident 1MB card (don't remember model number, but did the job!)
2. Creative Labs Graphics Blaster 3D 4MB (3D De-accelerator and the reason I will never buy a Creative Labs product again)
3. RealVision Voodoo 1 (First real time I went "WOW" from a purely graphics standpoint.)
4. Diamond Stealth S540 32MB (Savage4 chip, great hardware, shitty drivers (If you think the Radeon's drivers are bad, you ain't seen nothing!))
5. Rage Fury Maxx (Won it, never used it. It works great in my buddies machine though)
6. Radeon 64 VIVO (All I can say is "WOW" for the second time)
