Default Simon Pegg and Eric Bana to star in next Star Trek film

Quote:
Hot Fuzz star Simon Pegg is to play Scotty in the new Star Trek movie, according to industry reports.

The British comic will join Eric Bana, and Leonard Nimoy in the latest big screen outing of the classic TV series, trade publication Variety has reported.
That's Star Trek Eleven.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7041249.stm

To quote Mr Pegg:
Quote:
...as sure as day follows night, as sure as eggs is eggs and as sure as every odd-numbered Star Trek movie is ****...

Just watched "Hot Fuzz" a week or two ago. I was genuinely impressed. Much of the film was a bit slow, but the last half-hour or so made up for everything, and then some.

Scotty wasn't fat when he was younger. Didn't you ever watch the show?

If he dons the fat suit it'll be Eddie Murphy all over again, a funny man train wreck in slow mo.

Pegg's co-star in "Hot Fuzz" and "Shaun of the Dead" would be a better Scotty, imho.

i guarantee this movie will butcher the Star Trek universe
however still be a pretty ****ing awesome flic
it is however a prequel (which is ****ed up, who even thought of that)
with all the actors in this movie i guarantee that it will make a lot of money
and movies that make LOTS of money = sequel(s)

just wait. they'll launch a trailer and then everyone will be like "i'm sooo going to see that"
