YOLO.

Just wait for vega, even if it's not faster than a TI it will probably lead to lower 1080 prices if you want to continue to be on team nvidia.

I got my Step Up approval and RMA code from EVGA. I'll be mailing my Hybrid 1080 back to them today. Should have my 1080ti FE by next week.

I started the Step Up process on March 11th, so about 11 days total. Not too bad

Looks like EVGA does process Step Up RMA's before restocking product on their website.

Finally got around to doing some benches. CPU at 4.4 though, not sure why as maybe I forgot to set it to 4.5 last time I changed out some stuff.

This was my Firestrike ran with the 7700K at 4.9ghz. It's weird, my combined scores are higher than yours. You can see where the 1080ti pulls ahead though....

So I added a bit of a more aggressive fan profile so that at 30c/30%, 70c/50%, 80c/60% and 100c/100%. Power limit at 120 with temp cap at 85C and +75Mhz on core and +200 Mhz on memory. I tried +100Mhz on core but heaven would fail and I don't want the fan to go as any more aggressive as noise levels become unbearable.

Though this seems to be a nice safe overclock if anyone doesn't want to spend too much time meddling around. (until that odd game makes it fail...).

I did gain about 800 points in Firestrike Ultra.

Note that I still don't have a SLI HB bridge. It should arrive mid next week and this boosting my results nicely in 4k.

I recently milled the tips off my HB bridge. Turns out it's made out of aluminum. It feels like plastic to the touch. This is needed if you plan to use a water block with your 1080TI in SLI.

As you can see, I milled at just the perfect spot to get it to fit.

Yeah, it seems only Nvidia's HB bridge has problems. Did yours come free with your motherboard? It would be cool if they included them with the mobo from now on.

That's good to know, I am an ASUS type of dude so... It will probably be a while before I buy a new mobo though.

I managed to bump up my Core OC to +100Mhz. Was stable in Heaven for about 30 minutes. Not sure how else should I test for OC stability these days as people go about claiming crazy OCs without providing any actual proof of how did they even test stability.

I personally test running 3dmark for awhile but the ultimate factor is just playing games. Sometimes 3dmark or other programs will run looped no problem but actually playing **** will artifact, driver crash, or freeze the computer. I play whatever game I am playing for an hour or two and if nothing happens OC is stable IMO.

This. Play the most demanding game you own and see how the OC does.

Witcher 3 and BF1 are my go-to games for testing. I noticed the Frostbite engine in general can be quite sensitive with memory OC, while Witcher 3 does great for core testing.
