![]() I think the refresh cycle may depend on what Nvidia thinks AMD is doing. If they believe AMD is going to be releasing new designs on a yearly basis, then maybe they have to step up their efforts. In terms of rasterization AMD is currently basically on par with Nvidia. Ampere wins at 4K, while RDNA2 wins at 1440P and below, so it just depends. Nvidia is a head on features, but another iteration may close a lot of the gap on the ray tracing side. We'll have to see what happens with AMD's DLSS alternative. So, if RDNA3 comes out in a year, then Nvidia is going to need something to compete with. I get the impression that the company really does not want to be #2, or maybe even tied for #1. The truth of the matter is Nvidia has been able to coast for a long time now, and set whatever schedule they wanted, since AMD really wasn't competing at all beyond the midrange. If competition heats up, then product cycles may get shorter. |

![]() Spot on Nagorak, agreed with your view of the market. AMD came back very strong and once they have a DLSS implementation they'll be even stronger so nV gotta play to win, no easy game now.

Nvidia are basically laughing at this moment. AMD ray tracing? Don't think so. DLSS equivalent no where near. Being screwed by M$ and Sony maybe so. Consoles first, Zen 3 second and Radeon last. That's the way.

![]() Lovelace is a repeat of the gtx 580 that was a fixed gtx 480 that took 8 months between them Lovelace 4080 ti 14 to 18gb will be on TSMC 7nm in 6 to 9 months and there will never be a 3080 ti they most likely had this ready to go to tape out when the Jacket lost them TSMC this time and had to switch to Samstung it's most likely already taped out now it will be 30% faster than a 3080 or maybe 3090 but be back to a 250 watt card |

Not exactly a scientific poll but it does dispute your vaporware argument. TSMC is up to the hilt churning out console and Ryzen CPUs so Radeon took a back seat. Maybe nV did the right thing going with Samsung? I know, can't get either... 2020. ![]()

and if it takes 4 to 6 months for them to fix the stock i might as well wait for Navi 3 RDNA 3 at the end of the year when everyone has had the vaccine and is running all over being nuts and not buying PC parts it will most likely take that long to fix 2077 also ![]() |

1. You can't announce a launch and then don't do it and move on to the next generation. Investors get spooked you can't execute launches anymore, and share price tanks. Investors own companies not management. 2. AMD will have priced 6xx sales into next profit statement. No sales not good statement stock tanks. 3. Lisa Su announced the 6xxx series it's on her watch. Fail to deliver and she's gone. She also announced the 6xxx series would permeate down the stack aka 6700XT and below. No delivery erodes credibility. 4. What about all these 6xxx wafers AMD has ordered? TSMC want paying. 5. I don't think you can suddenly change to 5nm node production once you've agreed to 7nm for 6xxx series. 6. Phil Spencer doesn't expect console demand to reach supply until their Q4 which is April to June. 7. I ordered a 3090 on 15/12 delivered 17/12. So not vaporware although I accept your argument about AMD launching later. Never got near a 6900XT. 8. For what you paid for your 2080ti I think I got a bargain with my 3090 ![]() Same goes for Nvidia they signed a new deal with Samsung so that sounds like they are going to flesh out the 3xxx series through the stack at least. They have nothing to worry about at the moment as the 6900XT can't keep up in 4K. They don't need Lovelace they're spanking AMD up and down the stack ATM. Forget RDNA3 it ain't coming till 2022 and then probably as an Instinct card. So are you sticking with the 2080ti for a year or so or are you going to flinch and get a LC 3090?

![]() Definitely not vaporware, there are just to many people buying then there are parts to supply. New cards are a long ways out, 2022 at the earliest. No way they are moving on when they are making a killing on these and will be for at least the next 6 months. |

![]() Why bother in 6 to 9 months for a new GPU. There's no need AMD are still behind the curve. Churn out the lower end parts for next 12 moths or so and all is good. I don't like the jacket but he's not stupid. Hardly any 6xxx in the channel so why rush, no point.

1. Covid 19 applies to both. AMD 6xxx MIA. 2. Mute point as they can't make many ![]() 3. Agree CPU's doing better but we're talking about 6xxx cards. 4. They knew what the contract was that's down to AMD. 5. What about all the wafers you, Pax and NWR told me were coming for 6xxx series. Where are they? 6. 5nm? They can't produce cards at 7nm yet ![]() 7. From memory you spent $1,500 for your strix 2080ti and I spent $1,550 for my 3090. I'm not saying it's a great upgrade from 3080 but it's more than 50% faster than your card for not much more cost. Remember I'm coming from a 5700XT which is a wow upgrade. 8. RDNA 3 you're having a laugh they haven't properly launched 6xxx series or Zen 3 yet. I couldn't get a 5600X so bought a 3800X instead. Great CPU by the way. 9. Who cares about watts? Performance or watts lets see ![]() Hopefully on 11th January she'll apologise for this clust****** of launches. Can't see it though.

![]() to be fair considering nV has had a ~2month head start i think you know the answer to that question and i do have to agree with bill, outside of overpriced($2400) 3090s, 3080/3070s have been vapourware in my neck of the woods. Ive been trying to get one locally since launch |

![]() Who's fault is it that the 3080 had a ~2 month headstart though? Especially if it's vapourware, that 2 months shouldn't matter then.. The 3080 was definitely vapourware the first month, I give you that. I think things have slowly been getting better since. I see a good amount of people running 3000 series cards now. The NV cards I've at least been able to get multiple in my cart or in checkout. I haven't even seen a AMD card in stock once.. |
