Default Pan's Labyrinth WOW!

I had never even heard of this movie. I saw some people talking about it on the AVS forum and figured what the hell. I got the Blu Ray for my Birthday the other day and got around to watching it last night.
I found the movie both captivating and mesmerizing. I thought the story was great. Some of the scenes made me cringe terribly. At first the Spanish with sub-titles was bothering me but after about a half hour its like it went away. The part of the movie that blew me away the most however was the DTS master audio soundtrack. My whole room was alive with this movie. This is now truly an all time favorite for me. If you have never seen this movie it is definately worth your time IMO!!!

Yep, easily one of the better movies of the last few years.

You should really try to get used to subtitles if you're a movie buff. There are countless great movies out there that will force you to use them, and remakes almost never come close to the originals. Even overdubs are ususally a tragedy.

Yes, the movie is excellent. I want a Blu Ray copy badly.

I watched it numerous times when it first came out. Around 13 times, if I recall correctly. I'd just watch it with all my friends to see their reactions to it.

Yep.. probably my favorite "fantasy". I usually don't enjoy these kinds of movies - thought LOTR and HP were overrated.

Superb acting. I love watching standout performances from actors I have never heard of before.

El secreto de sus ojos [The Secret in Their Eyes] & El orfanato [The Orphanage] are some other recent Spanish movies that deserve a viewing. The Secret in Their Eyes won an Oscar for best foreign film this year.

I have the Bluray...it's super clean looking, probably the cleanest of all the other Blurays I have. Also a good movie to test out the black level/shadow detail of your TV set.

Great movie, too.

it´s pretty sweet, pretty brutal at times.
And some of the imagery reminds me of a Tool video, like the pale creature with eyes in its hands.

Great movie.

Don't forget others, like El espinazo del diablo / The Devil's Backbone (also in spanish). These sort of quality fantasy movies really should be more common.

What ! You did'nt go off in your pants when you watched it ?

Yeah, it was OK, hardly earth shattering though.

The Devil's Backbone is one of the best movies I have ever seen!

It was decent, and a well made movie...
But not my thing I guess.

I will say that subtitled is the way to go for any foreign film...dubs are terrible.
