Prior to the popularity of the Buffalo wing, the chicken wing was tossed as byproduct along with the necks/gizzard etc. Wings typically were only used for soup to make stock/broth or just discarded.

Funny you mention this, last night was 35 cent wing night at Buffalo Wild Wings, and I went through 18 wings. That place has some great wings with LOTS of variety. I suggest that for any wing lovers.

Thanks! WINGS ROCK!
When i make my wings saucy i ussally do it like this, ( But i always seem to change it a bit everytime so nothning is exact :P )

1st through a batch in the deep fryer , Mix up some flour, sometimes i add abit of breadcrumbs, and various spices, seasoning salt, caen pepper, garlic power ( and whateverelse i have i and feel like putting in that day.) Now when the wings are done coat them in that, and let them sit out for a bit, In a pot put some franks hot sauce, tabasco sause, caen pepper and whatever other spices you want, and a scoop of butter. heat that up and mix it all together.

Get your deep fryer really hot and through the coated wings back in to it for a min or two, they will get really crispy.
take out and coat with the sauce.

Hottest wings at my local pub are called, "Johnny Cash" -- if you can eat 30 they will give you $100.

I can eat really hot food and I couldn't get past 7 -- for the next 2 days my anus cried.

Oh, yeah! Hot wings are like a drug to me. Every place I have dined in I had to try the wings. I have to have the wings. The best sauce I have found to be for my taste is Frank's Chicken wing sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!

I know for a fact where they are. They are at a restaurant called Duffs in Buffalo, NY. If you eat there, you will believe me. The best barbeque wings are from La Nova, also in Buffalo.

They will deliver anywhere in the U.S. overnight for an outrageous fee. Though, I'd rather have them fresh.
http://www.lanova.com/pages/history....tID=&password=

As a matter of fact, you cannot go anywhere outside of Buffalo and find a decent chicken wing. It's a proven fact, and you will not find a townie that will disagree with me.

Buffalo is to chicken wings as France is to champagne: everywhere else it's just sparkling wine.

As a connoisseur of chicken wings, I can say that those recipies blow.

Here's how to make good wings:

Deep fry your wings until crispy, then toss in (very important) Frank's hot sauce. Add a small amount of butter to the Franks for a milder sauce, or for flavor, and add a drop or two of Dave's insanity sauce and some black pepper for those hot wings.

It really is as simple as that.

Barbeque wings should always be put on the grill after frying and saucing. That bakes in the flavor and makes them delicious.

Sorry for doubling up on posts, I didn't feel like editing the last one.
