Truck is at the dealer again

Exhaust whistle came back, probably needs a new gasket. Also told them about the cyl 6 misfire I get when it's below 40F and not fully warmed up.

Replaced windshield wiper blades. It's supposed to have 22" on it, when I took the old ones off (and compared to new ones) I found out they were 21"

Replaced the transmission cooler lines. They were pretty rusty crusty and started leaking. You can see the rust starts where the plastic clip attaches to the lines and holds water, then it spreads. I greased up the new clip pretty good.

Replaced stock exhaust with OBX stainless catback setup. The resonator has been rotting out ever since I got the car and I've patched it multiple times. I decided to just replace the whole shebang instead of getting an aftermarket resonator welded in.

Do they cover all the windshield? I would often buy 1-2 inches longer on my old cars.

Gave the dirty girl a bath.

For most this is not post worthy but I've had $80k cars I did not wash... ever.

[edit]
Also note worthy, 12yo BMW needs no repairs.

Been working on the track car every chance I get. Pulling all the control arms to replace the bushings and it's been slow going with work trips and other things getting in the way.

And here's what 15 track days did to the squishy OEM rubber bushings. Ruined. I've been chasing toe changes every track day, and sometimes between sessions. Pretty clear why at this point.

It was more complete before. I took the fenders and hood off to put it in the garage. Now it's staying uglier so every time I open the garage everyone has to see it

To be clear, the only thing they popped me on was that it was out of inspection/registration. The car looked fine, and none of my neighbors ever complained. It was in the driveway for over a year.

My wife used to get that spot, now we both can park in the driveway

I also realized it's going to be better to do the work I need to do underneath in the garage, less problems with heat and direct sunlight. All in all probably should have done this sooner Another benefit of my garage is my water heater is a hybrid heat pump, so it actually cools the garage, meaning my garage is 10-20 degrees cooler than outside.

You need a bigger garage or a shed to put all that stuff in the in it to free up some space.

Most of the bushings don't fit in the rear upper control arms. So, now I'm honing each one for a custom fit. Nothing but fun over here.

Finished one arm tonight, will finish the other tomorrow and drill out the front lower OEM bushing retainers so they can be pressed out.

Did you freeze the bushings before installing? Just checking.

No. These should be able to be pressed in by hand with no freezing. The upper front worked just fine, so I have an idea of how they should fit according to the owner I've been in contact with. He asked me to take caliper readings of my arms, and found mine we're .010" out from what he normally sees. Having install issues (mounting to car) with the upper fronts, so will need a different solution for that.

Replaced the front driver's side wheel bearing/hub assembly. Started making noise several days ago. Will be doing the passenger side real soon too just because.

Also rotated the tires.

Some work I've done the past week on the track car here and there as I've found time:

1. Finished delrin bushing install
2. Torqued all suspension and brake components
3. Checked everything for wear
4. Ordered new brake pads front/rear (Ferodo DS1.11)
5. Replaced rear passenger axle shaft assembly
6. Installed camber plates front/rear

To do yet before May 6th track day:
1. Alignment
2. Install repaired ABS Module
3. Flush ABS System/brakes
4. Mount new tires (weather depending)

Found the wheels for my Colorado when I lower it/need new tires. Came from a 2014 Cadillac SRX. They have a different offset from my Colorado wheels, might need to run some spacers to make up for that, they sit 20mm more inward than the stock Colorado wheels. They're 20x8 ET53, same lug spacing and hub size as the Colorado. With the stock Cadillac tire sizes the outer diameter is the same as my Z71 wheels. Figure I can sell the Z71 wheels to someone. The Chevy center cap should swap right over too. Paid $300 for the set, 3 are mint, one has a rock chip but is mint otherwise.

Also got my Cleetus shirt:
