Default Noise & Video Card

Hi all, the R9700 and R9800 PRO are not noisy at all.
Now I guess : what about X800 and GF6800 ?
It's very important, because I dont want to have the noise of an aircraft in my room : remember the GF FX5800 !

Cool

Relax, there is no new card that even comes close to the noise levels of the infamous dustbuster on the FX 5800 Ultra. Since that card had such high frequencies and ran so hot, Nvidia needed no use an extreme cooling solution. I have a Radeon X800 PRO, and it's very quiet in idle and only gets a little noisier when gaming. When you're into a game, you won't hear it anyway! I can't speak for the 6800 Ultra, but I've heard that it's not particularly noisy. Remember that these new cards need good cooling solutions, so they aren't going to be completely silent.

Default

Spray about 3 coats of 3M car undercoating on the card then stick a pillow in your box.

You could even jack hammer a hole in your floor to drop the case in then fill it with cement.

Only do this mod if you live on the first floor or dont have a basement.
