Default 2014 Apple "Special Event" - iPhone iOS/OSX/misc

I like to make a thread just on the presentation. We have a rumors thread, it is no longer rumors tomorrow. Post what everyone is expecting/hoping.

Expecting:

- iPhone6 4.7 and 5.5 (like the rest of the planet)

- Seems like a major overhaul to Passbook/Wallet whatever they call it

- iOS8 release date is actually within a week of the presentation

- OSX Releases in October (It would make more sense for 8 and 10.10 to release at the same time though) Maybe a Mac mini refresh teaser

- iWatch/Wear thing? I don't think so but who knows

- Data integrity/security double down, anyone? hello? bueller?

I want a new Mac Mini. Preferably just an updated version of the existing design rather than a move to an all new SSD only form factor as I fear they may do.

iOS 8 would be nice.

I'm expecting iPhones and a new watch-thing. Phones could interesting but don't think I'll replace my 5S in the next year. Don't give a damn about any "smart watch", I fail to see what use they are. They'd also have to pay me to give up my old school mechanical Omegas for a disposable gimmick.

Raz already started an Apple thread for us. Let's just use that one.

I'm looking forward to seeing what they share tomorrow.

Expecting: Disappointment

I'll certainly be disappointed if the rumors are true about the 5.5" version having a better camera (optical image stabilization) than the 4.7" version.

Well you may get faster performance but when you run out of RAM, what'cha gonna do? Dem appz gun' be crashin' that's what

Plus putting yet another phone out with just 1GB gimps what you can do with it - developers are gonna cry because they're hitting the barrier as it is.

Apple needs something other than a big screen to differentiate from the 4.7. The camera is where this be different. I'm all in. My girl will get the 4.7"

Really? They haven't actually announced the thing yet. Maybe give it a few hours to see what they announce before pushing all your chips to the center of the table?

I for one am looking forward to seeing what they do with all these new APIs they're opening up. Once they've spent some time cleaning them up. Right now they're a bit of a mess.

I'm interested in what they're pushing. I'm up for a new phone, and am looking for the best camera available. Their audio interfaces also interest me, but the phone would have to also be an upgrade in almost every way to my Z1s, which will be pretty hard to do, especially if it only has 1gb of RAM.

I disagree actually, I think the impact of iOS8 will be bigger then the camera. I don't think I've seen many rumors about the camera being better. They've been completely eclipsed by screen and battery sizes.

I'm sure we'll see some ... what are they at now? A9? Benchmarks.

1GB severely limits multitasking ability, and those audio apps that musicians use are hungry.

Rumors says that white box is a soundstage is U2 for the end of presentation performance, probably with some sort of music tie-in promotion.

The press is ready. No need for multi-million marketing budgets.

It's in the official stream. Someone at another desk here was hearing it. None of us can figure out how to turn it off. Someone pooched this one big time. The live stream is pretty much worthless what with the over talking. I'll just tune to Ars for their updates instead.

Wow, the video went out and now there is some screen that shows like when there are technical difficulties. Yeah, they really screwed that one up. So much working up to this event and this is the outcome?

Or you can watch it on Apple TV or just use Engadget's live stream.
