Extinction 6-10 not bad for low budget flick. Im glad Netflix took up Sci Fi's mantle. No one else did.

Netflix: The Signal 4 or 5/10

Suspension of disbelief was nigh impossible towards the end of this one.

Upgrade. Way less action than what the trailer had me believe. Also predictable story. 4/10.

Mission Pimpossible 6. 7-10

Cool action but story has issues. Also Dr Evil levels of... evil in the antagonist. BILLIONS will die!...

Bit much if you ask me.

Kingsman. Fun, lots of action, & unpredictable. At first I thought it would be a Men in Black rehash, but it ended up being very different. Also, loved Sam Jackson as the villain.

Avengers: IW 6.5/10

I can't quite put my finger on it, but something just didn't fit/flow/feel nearly what I expected.

Some of the humor was good, brought laughs. Some of the unexpectedly touching scenes were rather well done, but something just didn't flow right.

I'll watch it again in a couple of weeks and see if my opinion changes at all as I did like it, it just wasn't a great super hero film for me.

That doesn't bode well for me heh

i havent seen it yet but imo the most solid Marvel movies (Iron man 1, Thor Ragnarok, capt 1) are those where they keep it relatively simple, although even those simpler ones fail sometimes (Black panther). Avengers 1 and 2 were messy kiddie crap imo with paper thin everything.

I think this could have been kept simpler, fleshed out a bit more. It wasn't bad, just not great...meh

Mission Impossible: Fellate (IMAX) . . . 7/10

Great action, ultimately forgettable. Ving Rhames and Simon Pegg keep this from being a fiver.

Watched Unbreakable (2000) for the first time. Was really looking forward to watching this after the "surprise" ending in Split. Really liked it. Early 2000s movies have such an authentic feel to them. Or maybe the movie was just one of the good ones.

Can't wait to see Glass (2019).

Overboard (2018) because the original was a favorite of the wife. I hated it, but this one was actually pretty enjoyable. Solid 7/10 in the stupid but fun category.

I can't let this one go. I guess you can you could say The Walking Dead on AMC is sci-fi. And then there's this from them, a green-lit series featuring Ken Lui's short stories.

And then you have Amazon Prime with it's Big Dick push (Philip K. Dick, that is) with The Man in the High Castle and Electric Dreams.
Plus they're the ones who recently saved The Expanse.

The market for sci-fi is just too big for any of these players to ignore. Thank Gawd.

I think he means that they have taken the bad SyFy channel crown of low budget SciFi. I would prefer low budget SciFi goes away myself. Its usually plain out awful and not worth anyone's time.

Avengers infinite characters - 7/10 falling to a 6/10. The more I think about the movie, the less I like it. Half a movie and lots of cheap shots.

Mission Impossible: Fallout. 5/10. Predictable mess. I saw every "twist" coming a mile away. Basically a string of chase scenes, some of which dragged on way too long, and no character development. It's been too long since I saw Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation so I didn't remember much about the relationships between some of the characters. But I really didn't care, either.

I'm kind of glad I'm not the only one that felt that way.

MI6, was more an action movie than a MI movie, but for action I enjoyed the stunts on the big screen and rumble seats theater we saw it in. not sure yet but leaning to a 6 or 7 out of 10 but that might have been from the theater being so great. I find myself already forgetting about the movie story itself.

The Emoji Movie (2017) - 5/10

meh....

Watched it on Netflix.. Would have probably rated it lower if I paid theater money to see it.

MI: Fallout 8/10

Thought it was a great action movie. Don’t care about the plot much, just there to watch some crazy stunts, and Tom Cruise never fails to impress on that aspect. Henry Cavill did a solid job imo, didn’t mind seeing him as a villain instead of Superman.

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 7/10

I like Chris Pratt when he isn’t playing star lord in guardians of the galaxy. Actually, I hate him in that role and appreciate him in anything else. Cool dinosaur movie, the plot was really predictable (as usual) but the CGI was great.

The market for sci-fi is just too big for any of these players to ignore. Thank Gawd.
I stand corrected. Also good they all have better means to finance sci fi productions than Sci Fy...
