ATI Technologies What HD 5830 BIOSes allow voltage adjustment?

Please post here if you have information that helps HD 5830 owners to use a BIOS that allows for voltage adjustment, i.e: via MSI Afterburner.

Thanks.

what brand do you have. Most 5830 will overclock pretty high just on default voltage.

I have a Sapphire. The one without the Call of Duty logo on it. Nice card. OC's to 920/5000.

It's also interesting that the memory isn't cooled...

IIRC I used MSI Afterburner to bump voltage, once I unlocked unofficial overclocking in the ini file. But now I think thats a preferences option. You could also try AMD GPU Clock Tool.

Might i need to use something like RBE to make a BIOS with a voltage bump?

Yup, I dug this thread from its grave.

5830 doesnt let you change volts on the fly with software?

ya modifying your existing bios with rbe is an option

Default ...

this is the only GPU I've ever used that can handle its OC in games, but if the clocks remain when going back to Windows desktop, Flash cannot handle the clockspeeds and crashes in a slow and frustrating manner. Grr...

Sounds like RadeonPro and MSI Afterburner is needed, turn on the OC only when you launch a game but keep defaults when at the desktop so powerplay works fine.

Hmmm....I've had more than a few random gpu crashes/resets when surfing, never really figured out why....mine is OC'd a good bit, never had any problems while gaming so didn't think about the OC being a problem.....

veddy interesting.
