Because thats the res. the test is set to run at. Silly boy.

Edit : I am doing some "multi-tasking" this morning, but netted nearly 4900 with everything else going on. After Im finished with my work, I'll run a clean pass.

How many new actual scenarios are there?

It seems that they used all three old ones from 3DMark2005?

I'm just guessing though. I'm at work and can't run it until I get home.

Looks like ATI got spanked in this benchmark but expected as ATI is new to the SM3.0 arena. I would like to see tests for 6800 vs x800.

Yeah Nvidia gave futuremark a bung

Seriously, there is no reason for there to be such a difference ... I have had 7800gtx and x1800xt and in gaming theres not much in it speedwise, of course better drivers on ATi

Wonder if you do the test with 4xAA on HDR, then ATi should, by rights, score better 'cos nvidia cant do that ?

downloading now to see what its all about anyhoo ...
