MS increasing sub cost of Live Gold to 60 bucks for 6 months (double the price). Get your gold cards ASAP and convert to $1 3 year GPU ASAP. Too bad I can’t do much since my GPU will last till April of next year. Was thinking about stocking up on some gold cards but that might be futile as the 1:1 offer of XBL to GPU may expire by then or XBL might be phased out. Decisions.

They changed course. Not increasing the price anymore and f2p games will not require gold to play online.

Yeah, they changed it in less than a day after they saw the backlash. I'm guessing some executive bean counters railroaded the increase through without thinking. I can't see the likes of Phil Spencer being ok with it.

I just want one for backward compatibility at this point.

All the old games are currently dirt cheap. Wouldn't mind collecting a bunch of them and playing them at higher resolutions and framerates.

With the lack of good new games coming out (for any system) and the huge backlog of games I already had I'm loving the Series X...I'm getting all sorts of games from Game Pass and I get to play most of them at better resolutions/frame rates than when those games came out

Is the FPS Boost active now? Is it automatic? Would be nice if you flip a switch before launch so its not a guessing game.

It's active now for the titles mentioned. You can turn the boost on and off. Press start on the game card and go to manage settings.
