Cool NASA Orbiter Spots Star Trek Insignia on Mars' Surface

Quote:

An image captured by NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter shows a feature that will be very familiar to fans of a certain sci-fi franchise.

"Enterprising viewers will make the discovery that these features look conspicuously like a famous logo: and you'd be right, but it's only a coincidence," the University of Arizona said in a news release. The university manages the High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment (HiRISE) camera aboard the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.

The chevron shape in southeast Hellas Planitia looks like the crescent "Star Trek" insignia worn on the chests of Starfleet captains from Pike and Kirk to Picard and Janeway.

That's cool and all, but let's not forget about that Death Star orbiting Saturn.

Clearly the universe has been doing viral marketing for the Star Wars vs Star Trek movie

As per the Discovery show s1e1, it's obviously a desperate cry for help... and we're all just sitting back and pointing and laughing...

You know, this really should be a thing some day. Somebody needs to go into one of each other's universe' via a wormhole/parallel universe or some other manufactured reason just to get it going...
