Angry Error Messages

Anyone got any ideas on fixing this - suspect Cat 2.3 drivers are to blame.

And this

Lots of programs can cause the display driver to fail as well what were you doing to get the message?

damn them for taking down the patch before this one. WEll are you running with the plugins? Some of the plugins have been updated as well so make sure you got the latest of them.

If you have a soundblaster live and win DVD check this out there's a known problem with morrowind, soundblaster and WinDVD. http://www.elderscrolls.com/ubbthrea...b=5&o=7&fpart=

Sometimes the cdprotection crashes the game as well try the nocd patch from http://www.gamecopyworld.com/ and see if that fixes your problem.

Also since your using XP do you have either SP1 or atleast
using the AMD Directx vertex patch from MS http://support.microsoft.com/default...;en-us;Q321178
The fix is included in SP1 but can be downloaded seperately here: http://www.fileconnect.net/download....xe&language=en

Something that helped some people was setting
DONTTHREADLOAD to 1 in the .ini file.

Hope something helps ya.

Thanks

Yer I tried enabling the dontthread ini setting it still crashed

I dont have windvd, Ive got an audigy

I have the latest official patch and the latest official plugins

I have XP Pro SP1 + post critical updates

Going to try the nocd patch

Seems it causes the 9700 to get stuck in an infinite loop within the driver and it locks

yep try the nocd thing and get back to me, also is it just morrowind? And another question is where does it do it to you or does it seem to be random?

Thanks Mac.

No sorry mate it didnt fix it. NOCD is useful though, not having those pesky cds in the drive to play something.

Pulling my hair out at this stage. I thought ATI support was bad, check out Bethsoft! When you email their official support address, the mail server comes back with a hard bounce! Wow, like, the support mail box does not exist!

Ive got a string of other issues, which Ive posted in the cat 2.3 sticky thread.

Oh haven't seen those thought it was just this game. Sorry it didn't work for ya. And yeah I try to nocd everygame I own and if it's a game that is always patching or has an online check there's always www.daemon-tools.com.
