AMD AMD Catalyst 11.2 To Add Official Support for MLAA on HD 5800 & 5900 Series

Yesterday's release of Catalyst 11.1a hotfix enabled AMD's new Anti-Aliasing feature, Morphological AA (MLAA) to be used on AMD ATI Radeon HD 5800 and 5900 series graphics cards.
With Catalyst 11.2 this support will become official, in the WHQL driver. For more information about MLAA, you can read more here and here.

Update - MLAA Support will be added for the entire AMD ATI Radeon HD 5000 series!

I'll wait to upgrade drivers until that version then. Thank you.

Awesome news CJ, thanks! I've been waiting for that, still using a 5870 here and I'm tired of hacked drivers. Gonna grab the hotfix and see what the what is.

I have asked about possible future support for the 5770. When I hear back I'll let everyone know. I think it's likely as the 6700 series means it is a current architecture that needs support.

Just a note.. the Catalyst 11.1 AGP Hotfix is nothing more than 10.12 repackaged

Not true, it has different driver versions. If you had bothered reading any threads then you would see currently the Catalyst version number doesn't say 11.1 is all.

AGP Hotfix? Do you mean 11.1a hotfix? If so, you are incorrect, as Spyre noted.

Says Win7 only on AMD page, so how about Vista? As in MLAA ability.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Do you mean 'does MLAA work on Vista'? If so, then yes, but it's not included in the hotfix driver. Reports of modified drivers on Vista have not indicated any problems.

Is this restricted to Win7 only or Vista & XP support MLAA?
