![]() Might want to boost up the userbase first.... Windows Phone knows the chicken and egg scenario all too well. At least they're trying to convince devs and push for apps to be on their platform instead of crying about not having it.

![]() Wow, just wow. This is totally not practical. Software companies can develop for whatever platform they wish. The web is platform neutral, so there.

![]() RIM offered me a ridiculously high rate position to go back. Turned them down. I don't even call myself a genius when it comes to what I do. Now with people like me turning down good money, just imagine how hard it is for them to get any employees better than me. Most of my "RIM buddies" now work at Apple, Amazon, Google for 1.5x - 2.0x what they were getting paid at RIM. You tell me if they'll ever move back to Waterloo. ![]() His problem is real, but his solution is juvenile. Sure, it's hard to get people into your ecosystem when 99% of their content (i.e. music, movies) exist in frameworks not available on Blackberry devices. However, the solution isn't to cry to the government about how unfair it is. If they really want to play ball, they should offer incentives for these companies to make apps for their devices. Hell, I would even considering paying some of these companies to make the apps in order to try and kickstart some sort of user base.

I'm sure blackberry made enough money off Canadians all these years, they could afford to pay a couple of politicians off.
