Default Video of PS3 Death, Yellow light of death?

Its a little on the older side, as its Jan 19th, however not nearly as old as some of the things posted around here.

I wonder what the guy did to make it do that? Maybe disconnected the hard drive or opened the PS3 up and pulled a cable? Who knows.
One console dying doesnt make it a problem, all hardware has faults, maybe it was just a bad unit. Without knowing the inside story on this its impossible to tell.

I have no idea if he did something to it, to make it do that. Really, my point. Its hardware, and hardware fails. I asked once for someone to post a thread about a PS3 dying. (its hardware, it dies too). I was given trolling infractions for it. From a quick search, this was the second hit.

Yes, the PS3 fails as well. Im sure others can find similar stories or whatever. No, it doesnt ruin the PS3, nor make it a piece of ****, etc, etc. It has other things that do that..

i don't think anyone ever claimed the ps3 is invulnerable to failure.

The issue is that one console has a failure rate up to 33 times as bad as the other 2 consoles.

So while you can scour the internets and find a rare occurrence of a broken Wii or PS3. You can search this very forum and find numerous instances of people having 1 or more of their 360s breaking.

These people are not going out of their way to find a story about it, they are actually having it happen to them.

i thought my ps3 screwed up, all of a sudden i could not get any sound out of the HDMI port.... i even called em and sent away for a box to ship it off in.
but then it started to work again..

and a day or two later there was another firmware update to fix bugs form the last one.. didnt say what, but i guess thats what the prob was.

all electronic items break or fail.

GO to the PS3 forums right now and see like 3 threads on the first page of peoples PS3s that have broke.
it does happen
I just hope not to me now, cause my warranty is up..

Dandingo, that is quite enough. Trolling will not be tolerated here. Now let's get this thread back on-topic.

Here are pics of my ps3 after same thing happening.
http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthre...+light+of+dead

A few montsh back I think. It was fun to take apart. But it never worked. A borked US firmware bios update on a import 80gb ps3. O well. Worked till the firmware update.

edit: I got another from a electronics dealer in town, and returned the import, whoops.
So I have a working one now

I doubt ps3´s failure rate is that low. Some guy around here built one out of two damaged ps3, he took a few pics:

The failure rate just cannot be that low.

Well the failures couldn't have been that frequent as that's the earliest PS3 motherboard.

And supposedly the Falcon 360s don't have RROD signs anymore (3 green rings only)

But meh, that shalt be ignored.

I remember that all too well, it was a real pain. I don't remember how I managed to finish so many PSX titles when I had to flip the system upside down, sometimes that wouldn't fix the long load times or games freezing. Then there was the PS2 with the Disc read error problems. With this type of reputation from Sony how can I justify spending 300+ dollars on a PS3?

From my experience, the PS3 is right around 3% along with the Wii and current model 360 systems. The older 360s are pretty much the same as the old PS2s, except the warranty covers repairs this time around. Such is life, but it would be nice to get a generation without a really bad batch of consoles. *looks at PS1, PS2 and XBox 360*
