Post PS Vita

So who else is grabbing one of these badboys at launch here in a few weeks? And what titles are you picking up?

Here is what I'm going to be picking up on (or before) launch day:And later this year, I'm definitely going to grab these:I can't remember the last time I was this excited about a handheld system. The dual analog sticks, online features, and near-PS3-ish hardware alone have me sold, but the software is just insane. There are top-notch platformer, racing, shooting, puzzle, and even fighting games to behold -- and this is at and shortly following launch! And although little has been said about them, we apparently have upcoming Bioshock and Call of Duty titles. It makes me giddy just thinking about what developers will be able to do with this platform. Despite the terrible reception in Japan, I really hope sales start to pick up and the Vita goes on a tear. It's certainly the must-have portable system for the hardcore crowd for many reasons and it has all the makings of a juggernaut if things pick up once it releases in North America, Europe, and Australia.

I have the original psp and never use it. I just cannot game on such a small screen.

That really bothered me with my 3DS. My God, both screens were tiny. The Vita is supposed to have an absolutely gorgeous 5" OLED screen, though, so hopefully that will help make it more bearable versus the 3DS' main 3.5" screen. I checked and it looks like the PSP models had a screen size of roughly 4", so the Vita has those beat by about an inch and its screen will be more vibrant since it's using OLED technology.

damn thing is too expensive in my country. 400$ for the wifi system, 500$ for the 3g one, games between 45-55$ and they don't even want to reveal the memory card prices yet because of how absurd they are going to be. will wait for a price drop and/or refresh.

i have both vita and 3ds.
as far as screen goes, the vita screen is top notch. the color are so vivid which is great for gaming.

but i still think 5 inch is n't big enough for gaming, but for mobility i don't really want anything bigger

I know this is almost an entirely separate topic, but since you have it I must ask something regarding the analog sticks:
Although they're significantly shorter/smaller than their PS3 controller counterparts, do they still have nearly the same range of motion? In other words, can you still slowly shift from walking to jogging to running in a game like Uncharted or Gravity Rush, or is that range of motion compromised so that it's more or less black and white - walking or running?

I need to get a sense for how cheaply I can get games for this before I make the plunge.

super excited for this release.

I pre-ordered the Feb. 15th Early Edition along with Uncharted, ModNation, Little Big Planet, and Unit 13.

I finally got a chance to get some hands on time up at the local Gamestop.

I had heard that the analog sticks were a little laggy but I didn't notice it while playing Uncharted. I also heard that there was a ton of jaggies and such and while it does show some it's not as nearly as bad as the guy made it out to be.

I can't wait for this to get here!!!!

I say if anyone has any doubts they should go up to Gamestop and try it out. I'd be surprised if it didn't change a few minds about getting it right away!

Most titles are $39.99, whereas others are $29.99. Uncharted is $49.99, but that's the only game priced that high.

$51.80 shipped and an hour with a screwdriver later and I'm part of the Vita club.

I'll poke around the thread but does any one have any recommendations for an RPG, Platformer and Fighting game player? I've got a 3 month subscription to PS+ to test the waters. It looks like a pretty good deal with all the free games as long as subscription is paid up. So fire away.

I am not a RPG guy, but
here is my recommendations in no particular order:

Ass. Creed III Liberation
Dead or Alive 5+ (I suck at it)
Dragon's Crown
Escape Plan
Gravity Rush
Guacamelee! (cross buy. if you buy vita or ps3 version, you get ps3 or vita version.)
Limbo (probably same as PS3 version)
Little Big Planet PS Vita (I played the demo and I felt better than Little Big Planet games on PS3)
Mortal Kombat (missed out on the deal, but looks good on Vita)
PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale ( I suck at it)
Rayman Legends
Rayman Origins ( vita version should be free for PS+ members today)
Sine Mora
Super Stardust Delta
Uncharted:Golden Abyss
Wipeout 2048

Coming soon:
Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate (2d action game, not same as the console version)
Killzone Mercenary
Borderlands 2
Flower (probably will be same as PS3 version, but a very unique experience, highly recommended)

note:
I am in the Killzone Mercenary beta, I really liked it initially and I was really good.
but after everyone got so good and ranked up, I started sucking. still looks like an amazing game, but I don't enjoy the games that much once I don't do so well.
it is still the shooter game Vita users have been waiting for and online experience is top-notch.

what I am playing:
right now I am playing Wipeout 2048 and Super Stardust Delta, and even though they are the same game as the PS3 version. they have different levels and features, so I am enjoying both.

I finished Sine Mora and Escape Plan not too long ago, and I would highly recommend these two games.
Escape Plan is a Vita exclusive, you can buy Sine Mora on steam as well.

Limbo was my game of the year when it was released so if you didn't play that, you should definitely play it.

Dead or Alive 5+ and PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale are both fun, but I suck. even though I would suck at Mortal Kombat too, I saw a lot of positive feedback and new features for Vita that I would buy it once there is a sale.

I want to get back to playing Uncharted: Golden Abyss since I always enjoy Uncharted games, it is just good as the console uncharted games and I liked the fact they did it just for Vita with new story and so forth.

played little bit of Gravity Rush and that was really good too.
since Rayman Origins, Rayman games are always good and have really high scores around 9 so regardless of what platform you play them on you won't regret it.

Guacamelee! and Dragon's Crown were recently released and I bought Guacamelee! recently but I have to recommend both since the user reviews are great and I saw enough footage to tell both of them looks fun.

no clue:
you need to ask somebody else about Vita games(that some are multi-platform, some are exclusives) like:
The Walking Dead
Soul Sacrifice
Sound Shapes
TearAway
Ninja Gaiden
Hotline Miami
Counterspy
Persona 4 Golden
Sly Cooper
SuperFrog HD
Need for Speed Most wanted
and rest of the games at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ion_Vita_games
since I don't follow all the VITA games.

Persona 4 Golden is good fun (worth owning a vita for all by itself IMO)

Soul sacrifice is what I would call good for a hand held. (kind of a monster hunter type game) They are constantly putting out new DLC for free for it. I guess they think the vita is a 90's pc or something.

Only played about 20 minutes of Ragnarok odyssey so far and it also feels like a monster hunter type game.

they also have Disgea 3: absence of detention that is suppose to be good but I think its a strategy RPG. Got it through ps+ but haven't tried it yet.

after that I think your going to have to go with psp or ps1 RPG's

Gods Eater Burst is all right, but would really benefit from some better camera controls but its another MH type game so given the lack of right stick camera support I would put it behind the others that are made for vita.

I remember how small the original gameboy screen was...it was monochrome and had no backlight or HD.

People these days are babies complaining about screens being too small or not bright or HD enough

LOL, remember the sega nomad, turbo express. They are still legendary for double the amount of batteries and half the uptime. Too bad too. The Turbo Express was pretty phenomenal for what it was.

Golden Abyss isn't making its way to PS3 though, is it? I don't see anything about it on the Wiki. Do they have a PS3 version in development too, set to be released at a later date? I thought it was a Vita exclusive.

probably not right away.
but God of War games for PSP came to PS3 so I am hoping Uncharted game for Vita will come to PS3 as well.

lol
the game on ps3 should come to the vita, not the other way around

i say this because i no longer have a ps3, traded in for a 3ds and never look back. i will say good bye to home console this gen. it has been a good 6 years.

i am hoping they port gt5 to the vita and mgs4

the gaming experience on these new handheld are different than last gen one, i got to say i hate the NDS , and even the NDS game on 3ds still sucks so much. But with its own 3ds game with 3d mode on, games just can't look as cute on the wii or any other system. Mario is so cute with 3d on

games on these handheld looks sharp, i even like the graphic more on these handheld than on the ps3. yea the screen might be too small, but the game looks just so much cleaner sharper, much more colorful and you really don't get that blurry sub hd effect any more on smaller screen.

vita is a monster machine, what it can do with graphic is still unknow, but so far the gameplay itself has already match what we have on the ps3.

The level design is plain and feels like it fell out of the late 90's when first and third-person 3D shooters were first emerging. The enemy A.I. sucks and aiming in close quarters situations with the small analog sticks is like having someone twist your arm. I never had that problem with the demo mission because many of the firefights took place at medium range, but the levels in which enemies charge in up close really expose just how sloppy the aiming is. From what I've played, I'd give the game roughly 5 out of 10. I'm really disappointed so far. I haven't tried co-op yet or any of the high value targets, so who knows, maybe things will improve.
Yeah the fun factor is down if you don't have anyone to play coop with. I strayed away cause I think I would get more replay-ability out of MVC.

Quick question. If I sell Vita with Uncharted loaded on memory card and ofcourse not my account information. Will the game still be available to the gay who purchases from me?

what i have noticed is that you can't earn trophy because you arn't the first player who install this game or play this game
