Default Nintendo Sales Go Sky High With Wii Available in UK

Quote:
The Nintendo Wii console is today available in the UK. The Nintendo Wii sales from the US and Japanese markets combined surpass one million units, with the console sold out in just a few hours. On top of that, Nintendo sold 55% of all video game systems in November, according to independent sales reports from the NPD Group. The major Wii title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess achieved sales of 412,000, representing 87% of all Wii hardware buyers. In the UK, the Wii console sells for £179, while software is priced between £34 to £39. Included with every Wii console is one wireless Wii Remote, a Nunchuk, the Wii Sports game, a stereo AV Cable and the sensor bar for Wii’s control system. Together with the console a couple of Blaze accessories, including a high quality Component Cable and some Nunchuck/Wiimote Silicon Skins, are also available as of today.
Must say it is nice to have nintendo back in the game , lets hope they get some kick arse titles in the next year

Seems Nintendo really has it together this gen.

lots of consoles at launch (at launch I think they definitely surpassed MS and sony)

Great Launch Library (all GC games plus Zelda, WII Sports and VC games)

Decent Price

Not loosing any $$ on the console

etc. etc.

The graphics are not as good as the other two but really they are good enough not to matter and the games are really fun.

No the Zelda numbers are from the USA. No possible way UK could get more than Japan... UK got 50,000 (link to gamesindustry.biz).

My Nintendo Wii is SORT OF collecting dust atm.

The novelty that is Wii Sports has long sense worn off.

Zelda is NEARLY completed.. but I have not played it, I WILL today..

I have looked into some of the releases out now and coming by years end, underwhelmed is the word I believe I am looking for.

Not trying to rain on anyones parade, just my personal feelings on the Wii so far.

I believe it is my own fault, THIS is why I should NEVER buy a console at launch.
