Default Numerous ati2mtag error in Event Viewer

System: Windows XP SP3, ATI HD 4870 512MB, 4GB ram, AMD X2.

Problem:

I just checked my Event Viewer and noticed that it is almost completely filled with errors like this one:

Event Type: Information
Event Source: ati2mtag
Event Category: DVD_OV
Event ID: 62486
Date: 16-08-2008
Time: 18:27:46
User: N/A
Computer: GALMOK
Description:
Invalid parameters
Data:
0000: 00 00 00 00 01 00 5a 00 ......Z.
0008: 3d 00 00 00 16 f4 00 40 =....ô[email protected]
0010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0018: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........
0020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ........

I get 50+ errors like this all timestamped to happen at exactly the same time. This repeats all through the log.

Any idea what is going on?

Nothing exciting to worry about really its for info rather than an error. You can always turn off the event logger if they are annoying with a registry command.

Any idea what it signifies?

How do you turn it off?

I'm getting over a hundred of these per second while watching video in Windows 7 Ultimate x86 RTM Media Center, and they are displacing everything in my "System" event log:

Information 10/2/2009 10:07:16 PM atikmdag 62464 DVD_OV

I just replaced an Nvidia 9600GT with a Sapphire 4670 and have installed Catalyst 9.9.
