Default Business class flight tickets

So is there any legitimacy to the various websites that offer big discounts on business class international flights? Or is there some other legitimate way to get better rates?

They buy miles from credit card churners like me and then they book award flights in your name.
It's against all major CC issuers TC and your tickets can be cancelled before you even step foot on a plane.
Besides, no insurance and no frequent flyer miles accrual.

The other thing is that a lot of those 'great deals' are non-refundable.

Wow, so I'm guessing that if they cancel your tickets, you get no refund, since they were acquired in ways that violated the terms of service?

I don't know anything about tickets being canceled based on violated purchasing terms. However, it does sound similar to what happens to people when they buy game CD keys from sites that have used stolen credit cards... The keys are revoked and the money is just gone.

What I was referring to is that typically the cheapest deals are the ones that are non-refundable. Some of the sites hide that so just make sure to read all the terms when shopping for reservations. If the "airline" cancels your non-refundable ticket for mechanical reasons (only), they will offer another ticket of equal value. But you not being able to make it will just forfeit the fare.

Oh, yeah I know what you mean. I've bought sale tickets that were non-refundable. That seems to be pretty standard for when they offer super-cheap deals.

In the past, I've bought tickets off friends who had tons of points, and they bought the tickets and then sold them to me for half the price it would cost me otherwise. I've never had a problem with it, but that was from people I knew. I don't know if it would matter otherwise, since the purchaser's name isn't on the tickets; only the passenger's.

Have you used these bargain websites before?

The only thing I've used for flights in the past that wasn't directly through the airline themselves was Expedia. We wife and I didn't get the seats that were reserved. In fact, we almost didn't get on the plane. The airline worked it out but it was a mess. I've never used anything other then the direct airlines since.

I have used various sites for for hotels (without flight) and have mostly had decent experiences except when needing to cancel.
