Default data recovery?

A friend of mines HDD failed, data is still on it, but the read head stopped working. There are some important files on the hard drive, and she wants to pay for it to get recovered professionaly.

any good places? I told her it would be expensive.......but have no idea where to go right now.

thanks

Drive Savers comes immediately to mind.

They are expensive though.

Any professional drive recovery for that issue will probably be easily over $1000..is the data worth that much?

OnTrack and The Drive Guys in addition to Drive Savers. They are all about equal in terms of service and price.

Where I work (or will work again once the stupid layoff is done) will do a free evaluation, successful recovery starts at $500 and we have a class 100 cleanroom so we can handle just about anything.

I know it's a shameless plug, but you asked...
