What they need to do is nerf the stupid sun and then take care of the IRNV. I use the IRNV because it is awesome and because it prevents the game from raping my eyes.

yea the main problem I have with BF3 is that it doesn't feel like a BF game, more like a mix between COD & MOH with vehicles thrown in

yeah me and a friend were talking last night about this. They need to go back and look at Battlefield 1942. I miss maps like Battle of Britain, El Alamein, Market Garden, oh and Omaha Beach . Battle of Britain was great because you had tons of planes in the air in massive dog fights. El Alamein was awesome because it gave a large area for tank on tank action. Both of these are severly lacking in Battlefield 3. Also naval combat??? No where in sight.

Caspian Border isn't bad as a vehicle/infantry map but the air combat isnt that great in this game at all. All it does is sacrifice 2-3 members of a team to go screwing around in the air and have little to no impact on the actual battlefield.

*shrug* I dunno, between the in-balances in the game (IRNV), a Sun that is 10x brighter than our own, flashlights with 500,000 lumens, game stability, and lack of a in game server browser (I understand battlelog is great for stat tracking but come on it sucks as a server browser, the game just doesnt feel complete to me and feels rushed to beat MW3 out the door.


DICE should simply go and remake BF1942

Not your guys fault really, it's the poor game and map design. It not only supports but strongly encourages camping and hiding in a bush/rooftop/window style gameplay. It's become too easy for one team to completely lock down another team on some maps by simply camping at specific junction points which have no way to flank or workaround.

Bonus retard points to the developers of the game who have made anti-vehicle rocket launcher weapons (like the SMAW) be better for sniping than the actual sniper rifles in the game. It's really pathetic, why aim with a sniper rifle when you can just spam rockets ? Earlier I played a Siene Crossing map where all the camping spots had engineers in them spamming rockets at infantry. This game is a complete joke at times, sadly more often than not.

I too prefer the BFBC2 maps over these. Personally I haven't enjoyed a BF game as much as the original. The original somehow hit the nail on the head, with intuitive game play, nice balance of vehicles (planes can suck sometimes), and over all map design. BF1942 had more freedom to play then any of the BF games, and it had CTF, man I miss that.

The teammates-blocking-teammates system is still a huge, huge problem, especially on tight maps like Metro, Damavand, and Seine. You ever had a group of players on one of the river staircases on Seine and you can't even reach the top of the staircase because several players are standing still there? What a joke. It just infuriates me that they did not address this and inevitably never will.

Took me about 20hrs to be able to run around like a crazy man and still win most encounters. About the same time it took me to get decent in BF2, only BF3 is much faster and more enjoyable to actually shoot things. Yeah BF2 wins with large maps, but I think BF3 has better balancing (mortar and IRNV excluded).

I am still continually amazed at the visuals for this game, and hell even some destruction surprises me. I didn't know the market could be completely destroyed in Grand Bazaar till yesterday. The two storey offices in op firestorm? Yep it can be demolished too. I personally think they got the destruction perfect.

Big oil drums(?) in kharg island explode and completely dull out all other sound (awesome) and the black smoke also brings a shadow. I love this engine and it's also my favourite game of the year so far. New maps in december is going to be perfect to extend my play time.

Just played my first match with a blatant hacker, first one I've seen since I've started playing. I guess there are no vote kick commands in this game, as all anyone could do was just sit around in spawn and wait for the match to finish. What's very weird is that he was 1 shotting people with a SCAR, which usually takes about 3-4 bullets to kill someone. Others on the server noticed as well, which means that DICE put netcode damage variables hardcoded on the client ? Well that's gonna make hacking a whole lot easier for those who wish to do so. Most games have those stored server side, to prevent such kinds of exploits.

Also they need to tone down the flashlights and sun. At the very least tone down teammate flashlights/lasers.

The sniping in this game is unruly retarded. When the majority of the snipers in the game are using assualt rifles with scopes. You know there is a problem.

Yeah its pretty lame a sniper rifle's optics/ laser gleam gives away your position and then someone sprays assault rifle rounds at you and kills you from sniping distance
