Default How do you create a directory structure for your IPOD? (+IPOD NANO REVIEW!)

Ok, I'm trying to get my IPOD nano (2GB, white) programmed here. Thing is compfusing. I mean, the only thing I can do it get all the songs in just 1 big list. Like on my computer I have all my albums nicely divided into folders with playlists....when I put them in ITUNES it all just makes them 1 big long list. WTF!

Anyone have any ideas here?

Anyways, please feel free to ask any questions about the nano you want! I'll do my best to answer.

thanks!

Can you still see the screen, you know, with that plethora of scratches?

Do your mp3s have id3 tags? itunes separates the songs by artist and album. On my ipod mini theres a list of artists you can choose from, albums, or playlists.

dammit. I hope there are other options, cause i purposely stripped all my ID tags out of my MP3's. I mean, with all the junk in there. They are just straightup files with Band Name - Song Name in the Band - Album folder. I mean, how easy is that??

iTunes is all about ID tags.

You can edit the tags in iTunes though. Which is a bit easier than doing it the manual way with windows. Since everything is presented up front.

er... if you had left the ID3 tags in place, loaded them in iTunes, then mass corrected (ie, if 12 songs in an album has the same album, but most of them are spelt wrong, select them all, and edit, then it'll change the entire selection) them and then selected "Keep my folders tidy" in option, iTunes automatically does what u want for you.

Then when u go to iPod, you get artists, album, composer, etc. (Or if u wanna scroll the whole thing, use songs)

Yeah, ID3 tags are there for a reason.
