![]() Here's the issue. I have a standard 64mb Radeon 8500 (275Mhz). I have two monitors hooked up. 19" (1280x960:32) and a 17" (1152x864:32). 19" is on the left and is set as the primary monitor. 17" on the right and is extending the 19". 19" uses the VGA port on the 8500, 17" is going through DVI-VGA adapter. When I start up a game, Starcraft is one that comes to mind, the display on the 17" changes. Best way to describe it is that everything is moved towards the right, color depth appears to be using the same as Starcraft (i think 256 colors), but the resolution appears to be left alone. Everything on the 19" where Starcraft is taking up the whole screen looks normal and plays fine. Starcraft is just one game that comes to mind that does this. Other full-screen games do this as well and it is annoying. I like to keep winamp, AIM, etc on the second screen while playing a game to keep an eye on them but I can't do that when the game starts and everyone on the 17" moves almost off the screen. When the game exits, everyone goes back to normal. I have Cats 4.4 and the corresponding hydravision installed right now. Is there any way for the second monitor to be treated indipendent of the primary or is this a limitation of the 8500? Anyone else have this issue? Thanks in advance A7V333 V1 Athlon XP 1800+ (not OC, too hot as it is) 1GB DDR 2100 XP Pro (all updates) Radeon 8500 64MB (275Mhz) |

![]() Its just the way it works, 99.9% of games dont realise there is a 2nd monitor connected and so things go wierd Does the same thing on other makes of card so its more of a limitation of the games / OS

![]() ok what u can do to p[lay accross both screens is yurn off fullscreen in the game if it alows you, then stretch the window accross both monitors. thats the only way i got it to work and that was in windows 2000. in xp it was kinda more messed up. |
