My advice? Head back to the issues from the 1950s. The advertisements are as fun as the articles.

Just browsed through May, 1926...

The world seemed so much more interesting back then. So many ideas that were precursors for things we take for granted today.

I tried searching for some of the oldest references to "computers" in the magazine. I got a hit from the November 1921 issue. However, the term "computer" is used to refer to a job title... as in "Civil Service Examinations will be held for computers..."

It's a person who computes. Why not?
