Default DX:IW grey dots

I assume this isnt a new problem. BUt just to be clear , Im getting little grey dots in certain places when playing DX:IW. The only thing that will fix it is to turn shadows off but I like the shadows on full, it makes the game look much better as its supposed to.
Any word on when this will be fixed. Or if it will be fixed.

If you're talking about a problem with having AA enabled on a 9500+ board, then, yes, the problem has been fixed in the driver. Not sure on the release schedule for the fix, however.

No I have a 9700pro and get the little grey pixels. You see the them the worst when you are viewing something and turn.

Notice the little + next to the 9500, meaning the bug affects 9500 to 9800. The problem is resolved when you set Multisampling to 1x and setting Anti Aliasing in the control panel to App Preference. It is also fixed in the Catalyst 3.10 drive, Id recommend getting that.

Sorry miseed that +. And I tried that, it's not fixed even with the 3.10. I didnt see any DX:IW fixes listed in 3.10 release notes.

Hmm, my mistake then, I could have sworn they fixed it in 3.10. Well, disable anti aliasing completely as a workaround until the 4.x drivers are released in January. Honostly, the games performance is so terrible you will be glad you disabled AA.

pix?
if you overclock your card, it could be artifacts from going too high. the shadows do stress the card a lot.

No, it's not. It's a driver bug that is especially prevelent when using the combination of highest quality shadows, multisampling and bloom. Every DirectX9 Radeon suffers this problem, regardless or whether overclocked, underclocked, screen resolution, etc.

Though it appear mostly when Bloom is switched on, it also appears without it (as long as AA is set) and is kinda annoying.

Well I guess I will just put the game away for now. Its hard to choose between no AA or no shadows, both add alot graphically to the game. So I wont choose and just wait for the fix.
