Default Ricky Gervais Golden Globes 2020 [monologue]

Ricky Gervais strikes back.
I would be surprised if he's called back after this one:

Isn't that a totally normal thing to do for a comedian, though? Make some broad statement that also applies to them like it doesn't because the irony is also funny?

eh i guess so but it didn't seem like he was poking fun at himself. at least that's not how it came off to me. it was more like "you people, hollywood's elite etc..."

Meh....I don't know or want to know Gervais, or any of the people he's ranting about. Whoever or however the actors and actresses are though, at least some of them have dished out some good entertainment over the years.

Gervais....not so much.

This was a ploy to sell more tickets to his shows.

It's funny that people like to pretend they don't care what actors/actresses say until something like this happens. You sure do care a lot now huh?

People mainly don't care about their political, activist and overall hypocritical BS, and there's no pretending about that. This roast cuts right to the heart of the matter.

It just says what a subset of people want to hear so they'll buy tickets to his shows. His message was very political in nature.

I personally don't watch any award show BS. I don't give a **** about the music/movies/tv industry patting themselves on the back. They can say what they want, last I checked we've still got freedom of speech, and I'll be sure not to listen.

He's only after what makes him money. He makes that pretty clear on his Twitter.

I think more people have now watched the youtube clip than watched the telecast itself.

Seinfeld was making a similar comment 30 years ago. PC culture isn’t killing anything that wasn’t weak to begin with.
