Question Radeon 64 DDR - Low 3D Mark 2001 score compared to 3D Mark 2000

I have a Radeon 64Mb DDR VIVO (Retail) card which I bought at the end of May. Overall I`m delighted with its performance e.g. Quake III, timedemo 1 with all details maxed out at 1024 x 768 x 32 gives me 77 fps. I have run 3D Mark 2000 many times at the default settings of 1024 X 768 X 16 and consistently get a score of 5420. Judging from other posts I should be hitting 3000 with 3D Mark 2001 but I only score 2710 regardless of what tweaks I apply and what drivers I use.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can increase my score above 2710? It seems low for my setup but my score in 3D Mark 2000 is very good it seems. Grateful for any advice/help!

Regards,
Paul Smith

Smile Cpu & Fsb Holding You Back

Well it seems that its yoru cpu and fsb speed holding you back at this point. All you can really do is overclock your cpu and/or video card. Of course you can always upgrade but to me it seems that the 100fsb is really holding you back. Not to mention the BX slow memory performance. Dont get me wrong back in the day BX rules the land but compared to some of todays boards is pretty slow.

Good Luck

Default

I got 28xx by unloading some of the junk in my systray. All my normal benchmarks, no matter how tweaked, are with a bunch of junk in there, because, realistically, I'm too lazy to actually remove them when I go to play a game. Without unloading, I get in the high 26xx. All these are of course at the DEFAULT settings which it constantly amazes me that a lot of people don't do when they report their scores...totally defeating the purpose of the benchmark.
This is with a 32MB AIW Radeon on 1 GHz Athlon with 256MB RAM and WinME
