Default Android "Dead"? Says writer at seekingalpha

http://seekingalpha.com/article/1007...ead-part-1-why

Interesting series of articles. I don't think it's likely that in 4 years, the market will be roughly 25% each Apple, Google, MSFT and RIM. Major wins for MSFT and RIM if it does pan out, obviously.

He cites investment data from Goldman Sachs as a basis for his thoughts on part 3.

Thought it would be cool to discuss market, platform changes 4 years from now.

I think it'll be much tougher for RIM to win the consumer market back as oppose to MSFT. I don't agree with his enterprise stance with RIM as MSFT will be able to make in-roads with that. However, I do agree that Android is going to lose out big time on that. Like what I've written in the Surface tablet threads about business/enterprise segment, he writes in agreement with supporting financial data. Why retrain, reconfigure all the management ends when you can just apply the same GPO's to the Win8 tablets that you would with the laptops you're replacing?

Thoughts? Try to keep it as a prediction of 4 years from now.

Says he's an Apple fan, and then puts Apple #1 on the list.

Saying RIM will have 25% loses all credability to me.

That's what I'm thinking. I think it's plausible that MSFT could get there but RIM.... I don't know.

Predicting Android will fail is nothing new. This guy predicted it would fail 4 years ago, too.

My worst prediction ever? Column from 2008 explains why Google’s new Android will flop

I don't have a crystal ball, but I don't think Android has peaked. It's still growing. Whenever I show Jellybean to iPhone users, they're often impressed. I often hear about former iPhone users switching to Android as well.

I don't care either way. I like Android now, but if they started doing things that I didn't like, I would switch away from them too. I used to buy only Nvidia cards, now I prefer AMD/ATI cards. Times change.

Hmm....

Microsoft is betting their future on windows 8 across the board, and it already has slower uptake than Vista did across all implementations. Staying power doesn't mean anything when you're throwing billions at advertising and it remains that nobody is interested.

RIM - they're still alive?

Experian reported that Apple products ranked highest in goods returned for refund this holiday season.

The current top selling laptop on Amazon runs chrome.

Yep, sounds like google is doomed alright.
