ATI vs NVIDIA AGP8X Interfaces
Noticed the AGP texture tests mentioned in Tech Report.
I think I'm beginning to understand what Nvidia was saying when they mentioned that they would achieve outstanding bandwidth using 128bit DDR2 interface though optimization.
Their AGPx optimizations seem to be at a higher level.
Granted this is a AGP8x test, but it stands to reason that the mem. interface may be optimized just as well.
GF4 - 178.5 MB/S
Xabre600 - 29.8 MB/S
Xabre400 - 20.2 MB/S
Radeon9000 - 12.5 MB/S
I would have liked to see more results from different tests. Also would be nice to see the xmitted file size(s), etc.
