Default nVIDIA Will Switch All The GF4 MX & Ti Line On 0.13 & AGP8x : R300 Must Be Faster !!!

http://www.clubic.com/n/gen/n5942.html

- NV18 = GF4MX on 0.13 micron
- NV28 = GF4 Ti on 0.13 micron
- NV30
- NV31

R300 better be more than 30% faster as the GF4Ti on 0.13 will recive at least a 20% boost .

Exclamation

I don't know how you can talk about "%" performance gains! Say I know for a fact that the R300 is 27.845683043465% faster than the GF4Ti4600. How useful is that information to you, really? That aside...

The source for that "information" is nVnews forums (I think... seems to check out with what the guys have been throwing about over there). DX9 will be out soon and TSMC's 0.13u process isn't ready to roll yet. It'd be great if nVidia could introduce the cards immediately, but that obviously isn't going to happen.

It is beginning to seem as if they have really fallen behind ATi by at least 3-4 months on the GPU development side of things. Don't get me wrong, a clock-bumped GF4Ti will be very fast, but it'll still be a bandwidth-starved DX8 card. GF4MX on 0.13u is like a pushbike with a gas turbine engine.

MuFu.

I think the speed boost from .13u is just speculation at best. Look at what's going on with AMD's .13u. No signifigant speed boost over .15u.

The main reason to switch is to save cost.

The die shrinking should help increasing the speed of the CPU . I mean , 0.13 means more speed for the 0.15 R300 too , why shouldn't it mean the same for the curent GF4 ?

Also , nVIDIA's product cycle is something like this :

- 1ST february ;
- 2ND , overclocked cards in fall ;

And to reduce dissipated heat, if the process-shrink was correctly performed, hence allowing higher clock rates ...

AMD never use .15u. They are going to use .13u instead of the .18u in the past. Also, only AMDMB claim to be able to overclock from 1800mhz to 2160mhz, which is between 2700+ and 2800+.

Yes it takes only a couple of AMD Thoroughbred chips that didn't overclock well to start this BS Rumor..oh well thats the net.
If the current R300 is on .15 then ATI can also do the same, and of course whoever started this thread is basing their R300 speed rating on a Beta card not even running @ full clock speed, the driver used were so beta there was no TABS in the display properties

In other words, ATI has nothing to worry about trust me

This is what I hate with this board... If someone writes ANYTHING that is not positive about the R300 then they are Nvidiots, Flamers, and bashing some ATI product...

Point me to any bashing in this thread and you get a cookie

Since were on the topic nobody really KNOWS what the R300 is about so stating anything now is like speaking out your a$$ ..chips specs are not even official and we already have critics

GF4MX on 0.13u!!!

HOLY SH!ZTNIT!

That's nuts! ATi should take the 7500, put the .13u process on it, and team it up with 400mhz DDR ram! ()

Awesome analogy Mufu! Here's mine:

It's like a Honda Accord with dual turbine engines!

Not as good as yours though.

I read just fine kid, if you want to be skeptical about something make sure you have the product in your hands and actually have a objective opinion before making any 'Good' or 'Bad' comments.

Your quote is hilarious..

Since the product is not EVEN released yet what right does anyone have to say anything about it ..unless you have a R300 and lets us all in on your findings

Its more for feature I believe. While 8x AGP doesn't matter to you or me, it does to OEM's. I remember when 4x AGP came out, OEM were upset with Intel for taking so long to come out with a motherboard to support 8x so alot of OEM's started selling Via chipset motherboards that already supported 4x AGP. This move is to reduce cost and give the features that OEM's like, primarly 8x AGP.

You are SUPPOSED to discuss ALL POSSIBLE THINGS about RV250/R300...
