Default Office 2007 or Office xp on a weak system?

I have an old Sony laptop that has a 750mhz p3 in it.
I have an install of Windows XP pro on it.
Its has 384 megs of ram, 20 gig hard drive.
The machine runs great. I am really impressed with it actually.
I need to use Microsoft Word and I want to install it on this machine.
What version of Office would run better, or would it even make a difference.
My options are Office 2007 or Office xp.

I may also consider putting on Excel and PowerPoint if possible.

fix'd +

Also consider only installing the parts you will actually use, like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, but not Access, etc. Try out the Microsoft Office compatibility pack for Office 2007 documents as well, so you can open newer file format docs.

I have Office 2007 Ultimate, but chose to install only Word, Excel, PP, and Outlook during setup.

- The hardest thing about getting a Mac is telling your parents that you're gay.

- If I had the choice between being gay and owning a Mac, I would rather be gay, because if I owned a Mac I would be both gay and own a horrible computer.

- Imagine a giant cock flying towards your mouth, and there's nothing you can do about it. And you're like "Oh man, I'm gonna have to suck this thing", and you brace yourself to suck this giant cock. But then, at the last moment, it changes trajectory and hits you in the eye. You think to yourself "Well, at least I got that out of the way", but then the giant cock rears back and stabs your eye again, and again, and again. Eventually, this giant cock is penetrating your gray matter, and you begin to lose control of your motor skills. That's when the giant cock slaps you across the cheek, causing you to fall out of your chair. Unable to move and at your most vulnerable, the giant cock finally lodges itself in your anus, where it rests comfortably for 4, maybe 5 hours. That's what using Mac OSX is like.

It makes sense from a security PoV, and to save space. Why install features you don't need, especially as it is simple to add in the ones you find you need later anyway.

Better yet, throw that PIII away. Office 2007 would run fine on a $400 netbook.
