Intel Strictly Intel Decision: Intel 478 P4 3.0 GHz "C" Vs. LGA 775 3.0 GHz "E" Processor

The question is simple, I have to build a pc for my company which can be Intel only and have two options from my company (according to my budget) in which I can either get,

Intel P4 3 C Processor with Intel 865GBFL Motherboard

-OR-

Intel P4 3 E Processor with Intel 915x Chipset Motherboard (Don't know the exact specs).

Shall I go the Prescott LGA 775 route or be contend with a C classed processor.

As you can see the PC is to be compared for stock performance only as it will be a company delivered PC for me. Also note that AMD is not an option.

Guide me to a right decision.

If it's for your company go with the E. The performance is going to be the same no matter what it's doing, Minus well go with the newer setup. The E should also be able to use DDR2 memory and make sure you get enough of it. toomany times I see companies go with the cheapest setup and in the end regret it.

Well I don't think I have made a wrong decision but I bought the following yesterday. The E class processor is fine but I was skeptical about the motherboard and the reason that I can not add in an AGP card on the fly to use the company PC for home use also was another deciding factor. I will be making more rigs for the company soon and then I might give the E chipset w/ LGA 775 a shot. Overall this is what I bought:

Intel P4 3 C 800 FSB 478 Pin
Intel 865GBFL Motherboard
1 GB DDR 400 Kingston Ram
120 GB Seagate SATA HDD
Samsung DVD/CDRW Combo Drive
17" ViewSonic True Flat CRT
Case w/ 1 CPU fan duct, and 3 case fans (2 intake [back and side], 1 out [side])
Focus Keyboard and A4Tech Optical Mouse
550 KVA UPS
