Since you register the game on Origin you don't really need the discs anymore anyway.

I think they should have waited and released bf3 2 weeks late to get the first bugs fixed.

On a second note I love the game. I was skeptical at first but I think with some more polishing most of the crashing and bugs can be fixed.

The IR scope is too strong. I feel like a hacker and now use it too much...

I only have 1 IRNV and thats on the SCAR-H. I was support last night, played a few rounds, got a 14 kills to 2 deaths on Firestorm, no IRNV.

I miss alot of conversation because I am not always looking at the fadeout box. If it stayed up I would see it.
Anyone know how to make console commands permanent and keep up the fadeout comm box?

Regularly. There is no particular thing that alaways makes it crash. I can't recall a single gaming session where either origin or BF3 doesn't crash. I had to check the remeber my password/ log in box on origin because it crashed so frequently I would get tired of typing it all over and over again. I have also reinstalled origin and the game and video drivers multiple times now

I don't care that origin runs in the background or you have to start it to play the game, I just get tired of the constant crashing.

Though I agree on a consumer side of it, 2 weeks later would given them more time to polish the game, but on the business side of it, they did it to ensure that they maximized their sales since MW3 was coming out. IF they released it at the same time, or after MW3, I suspect that it would have lowed their sales numbers.

game's been out a few weeks now, there's no word on when a patch will be released? the stuttering issue is ridiculous. makes the game unplayable in Single Player & MP.

I brought down a attack chopper on Caspian yesterday from across the map. Total fluke, but I often try it, so far ive done it twice. Of course then you get the usual accusations of "haxx" etc. What was even more amusing was that these guys were totally owning the map, I think they had about 40 kills and 1 death, so they probably took offense to having an additional death against their stats or something...

I've also found out that (on my rig at least) the muzzle flashes from guns tend to make my PC drop frames. So I would have this scenario where I will be running along nicely at about 40-50fps, then I spot an enemy, go to shoot, then my fps drops to approx 30 fps. However if I use the suppressor, no muzzle flashes appear and my frame rate doesn't drop, so conversely, I am now getting more kills.

Just like every other dev says about boosters and nothing ever happens? There's usually no way to tell if someone boosted or not, or legitimately earned his points. While there will be some idiots who abuse exploits so much that their time played / points ratio make it obvious, for the most part most of the players who abuse those kinds of exploits their stats look normal.

They have already banned some people and reset others, so it's not an empty threat.

And yes, only obvious boosters will be caught.

The lighting/contrast for some indoor areas needs to be tweaked, especially for the large buildings with destructible walls. When the walls come down the lighting/contrast combination of indoor+outdoor lighting causes the interior of some buildings to become way too dark, making it impossible to spot players even at medium range unless they are against a light background.

Every other FPS dev knows you shouldn't have large dark areas and they place an adequate amount of lighting in them, dunno why DICE decided to go against the grain and make some of the interiors so dark, it's a campers heaven.

The lighting is way off. Way to much contrast which makes the colors almost seem black and white to me in certain areas. Shadows that cause things to disappear in a well lit area is annoying as hell.

I don't know what is up with this weekend and the goddamn mortar being used by half the team on every goddamn server I get on...

Anyone else regularly getting kicked from servers today? I think it's a PunkBuster issue, but tried all the tricks to update PB without any luck. Others on the Battlelog forums appear to be having the issue as well...

It's because now a large number of people have finally unlocked it. For me, I was bored of it in 5 minutes. Yeah, you can rain down hell on people, but it just is boring as hell for me. I like to go in and actually do some damage instead of playing "click the red triangles" Unfortunately this game must be somewhat addicting to the masses of other players

Shadows that cause things to disappear in a well lit area is annoying as hell.
