Default YouTube embeds, how about switching from Flash to HTML5

YouTube just said it's fine.

Quote:
Given the progress we've made with HTML5 <video>, we’re now defaulting to the HTML5 player on the web.

We're also deprecating the "old style" of Flash <object> embeds and our Flash API.

We encourage all embedders to use the <iframe> API, which can intelligently use whichever technology the client supports.

Awesome.

As an aside, there are issues in Windows 10 with YT videos playing in Chrome. More accurately, seems to be a Chrome/YT issue.

In IE, no issues. Embedded videos, no problems. Playing natively in Chrome... good luck with that.

Video plays fine, audio is choppy. Flash v/s HTML5 hasn't helped but I am hoping a future update will fix the issue

That's interesting. I use the Chrome YT HTML5 player by default and everything works as intended, even the 4k videos.

on a sidenote: How about embedding other formats like vimeo for example.

An example where embedded video works on my Firefox without Flash installed:

http://www.engadget.com/2015/02/06/darpa-alasa-video/

They use this code:

Code:
<div style="text-align: center;">
<iframe allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="384" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/BOaJWoVLhAc?wmode=opaque" width="630">
</iframe>
</div>

In the mean time, you could try this plugin for Firefox.

Desktop, choppy. Convertible ultrabook? Plays perfectly fine. Has to be an issue on my system. Reverting back to 8.1 on my desktop tomorrow, should resolve all the issues.
