Yeah I'm happy about it.

I estimate the top best case value for everything around $230.

Small haul from the flea market this morning, got there before it officially opened.

Spent $20 on the DS Lite and SMW Advance, paid $28 for all the Genesis stuff, paid $1 each for Fallout 4 and Photoshop CS5 (with serial/reg info, we'll see if it works). I already own Fallout 4 on Steam, but don't mind owning a physical copy too. I also got a small entertainment center for the 36" Trinitron I got a while back and all my older game consoles. Paid $25 for that. That will be nice to set up.

Got some other stuff, but none of it game related.

Cool stuff. I've been wanting one of those Genesis 6-button turbo controllers forever, but can never seem to find one.

Post up a pic of your Trinitron on the stand when you get it set up!

Just got set up. Everything that can be on component is, and everything else but the Genesis is S-video. Genesis is on RF because that's the only connection I have

No, but it was only $1, so doesn't matter.

Finally spent some time yesterday revisiting the old consoles I set up. I've had most of them for a while now but not actually played on them Gran Turismo 4 was such a great game, forgot how great really.

I also played Red Dead Revolver for the first time, damn that was fun for a bit. Can't wait for the new Red Dead Redemption.

About to head to the flea market, would be cool to find a cheap NES for upstairs.

This was an off weekend for game hunting for me. I decided last week to make a new rule for this summer. Going to do yard sales every other weekend, instead of every. Got a lot of little projects around the house to take care of and Saturday mornings is really my only chance for that since the wife works Sundays.

Will be back at it next Saturday though.

Finally got the cables for my Dreamcast, so loaded up some GTA2. Works perfectly, really happy with that untested purchase.

Got that lot of two Nintendos and games that I bought for $20 from couple weekends ago sold on FB. Separated it into 2 bundles and ended up getting $170 total. Now that is the kind of recouping value I'd love to get every week, but I know that is simply the best case scenario and wont happen often.

Yeah man, trying to find that balance to also do your own stuff when you have family and work can be challenging to say the least. I get frustrated when I think about how limited I am with game hunting opportunities, but then I just try to think how I still manage to occasionally find stuff anyway and I should be happy about that I guess.

Feel like a few more years from now when my kids are a bit older and my wife doesn't have to work Sundays because of a patchy schedule to avoid daycare costs, I'll have more chances to get out there. Not sure what's going to be left by that point though.

Saw this today and thought it was pretty damn cool. Some guy got an NES console in a lot of games that was probably used in the 1990 NWC. Its always great to find true retro gaming gems in the wild:

Living in Hong Kong, I can't help but envy how big your homes are in North America. Who has so much space to put their large game collections? Especially games you'd never play ever again?

Digital distribution places such as Steam and GOG have afforded us much space to put our retro games and hardware.

When i bought my current home in 2015 it came with a nice finished basement so i can now put my games out for easy access. Up until then all my old games were kept it boxes in my closet. Even still, storage space is always a factor i need to be aware of. My collection could definitely be much bigger than it is right now, but I've made sure to cycle out games i don't really want/need before adding too much more.

I know collectors that dedicate an entire extra bedroom in their house for their collections. They either live alone, or have an incredibly tolerant wife. Neither applies to me so I'm regulated to the basement. But I'm happy with it.

residential property is crazy expensive in Hong Kong, as you sure enough know very well. That aside, having a "hobby"-room like that is also kinda rare over here in crazy krautland. Was a lot different ~10 years ago. As Meteor mentioned, most people (including me) store stuff like that in boxes

Speaking of which, if you ever happen to visit our beautiful Country, Meteor, make sure to swing by, i've got a few boxes you could grab on your way home

Here's my thrift store pick ups from the past week and a half. Didn't get these all at once, and they were from 3 separate stores. Best ones are the AC Brotherhood and Goosebumps games which are still sealed! And the Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee is one of the few original Xbox games that's currently valued over $25. Comparatively to other systems that's like a $100 game lol.

Back to Saturday yard sales this weekend. Unfortunately there was nothing but mostly Wii garbage everywhere i went. Must have been the town i was in. Still, this stuff was cheap enough not to pass up. I think i spent $50 total for all.

Got a decent haul of Xbox and PS2 games today. Also got a decent deal on Super Mario Sunshine. Will post pictures later.

Mario Sunshine is definitely a worthy Mario game for the GameCube era, but i just can't get into it for some reason. I know i need to give it more of a chance but i just haven't found it as fun as the other 3d Mario games.
