Time to finally put this in one place, because even I lost track of all the different locations where these things get mentioned and then buried under endless other posts.

Available tools:

1. Nvidia Inspector
when you open Nvidia inspector, next to the driver version tab, theres a little icon with the screwdriver and a wrench, click on it, find a profile for the game you want, and input those values under the "antialiasing compatibility" tab. hit apply changes. thats it. (administrator rights required)

2. Geforce sli profile tool (for advanced users)
3. Nhancer (only for pre 256 drivers)

Unreal 2.5 and 3 engine games

Best performance for the majority of U3 and U2.5 engine games - 0x080100c5 (issues in some u3 engine games). Even when nvidia uses a different one in their official profile, you can often gain significant performance just by changing to this flag.

i suggest trying out 0x0000F0C1

Nhancer list for reference purposes

For games not mentioned, ask away and I will add it to the list if there is an applicable flag.

Big thx to everyone contributing!

Since this is a community effort, feel free to post it on other forums, i cannot take exclusive credit for this

Imm wondering now if any of the newly added flags work for older games that had no AA.

Alone in the dark 2008, Halo 1. im hopin one of these flags will work on GTA 4 as well

as soon as there is a mature version of this driver out, i will definitely do some testing. Form all the AA bugs reported in the guru3d thread for these new drivers (white screen in bc2 with 8AA, 1500+ GPU ram usage in nfs: hot pursuit at 16AA), its clear that nvidia has heard us, and they're updating their AA algorithms.

ATI's MLAA was obviously needed to wake up NV from their deep slumber.

Note that the AA compatibility hex values represent a series of bit flags - where each individual bit enables some specific rendering hack. They are not an enumeration that points to a unique hack or anything like that. To that end, you can perform a bitwise OR operations on the hex values to combine different existing AA compatibility hacks.

Because of this, some of the values that GanjaStar listed as requiring the 266.44 drivers might work in the current drivers. For example, I know for a fact that the Darksiders one works in current drivers. It's just enabling a new combination of existing rendering hacks. I.e. it's a combination of bit values already used in other games, it doesn't rely on any new functionality in the driver. However, not all bits are used in current drivers, so if an AA compabitibilty value contains a bit never used before - then there likely is functionality newly added to the driver that corrseponds to that bit.

nVidia Inspector has a window that allows you to enable specific bits to come up with these new values. You can see what it looks like to setup the Darksiders profile below. Unfortunately, what specific hack each bit correponds to nVidia keeps under wraps. NV Inspector shows you games where specific bits are used though.

i don't know why Included darksiders there, in fact i just noticed that

yep, darksiders doesn't need new drivers. will fix that. thx for the correction

but nfs one does. tested it myself. with the 266.44 i get AA working on cars, trees and some other parts of the scene. with the 265.90 drivers, manually inputing the new flag didn't affect the cars at all.

could it be different for newer cards? well feel free to test it, because I can't.

Looks like Dead Space, NFS, and Saboteur rely on a bit never used before (namely #22 in the bit editor), so there is probably newly added functionality in the 266.44 driver for them.

PS I hope nVidia doesn't pick up 3301 as the official compatibility value for Darksiders. The combination of hacks it enables exact an extremely heavy performance penalty on the game. I'm sure it would be possible to achieve AA more efficiently with that game if they bothered.

would be interesting to see if any of these newly added flags work on darksiders with better performance. The dead space value in particular is the one i would bet my money on if I had to pick one.

Another thing to test when theres a stable version of these drivers available.

That Dead Space hack made me think hard... I have an unpacked HIS 6950 that will probably unlock to 6970 but now I'm seriously thinking about selling it and going 570 The only games I would need AMD for would be Halo and Gta 4... nV there is Cryostasis, AA forcable to Stalker CoP, Dead Space, AO for Dead Space and Bioshocks...

Could anyone with 570/80 and Dead Space installed post performance 4xAA + forced AO (quality and high quality from nV inspector)? Wouldn't like to go 570 and see it insufficient...

this is assuming none of the new AA flags work with those games

it could be possible that the deadspace flag works for some other console ports with problematic AA forcing.

MLAA not good enough? 570 is a good card but why not keep the 6950?

Yep I could say so as I obviously unpacked 6950 No way that I wouldn't try it I guess...

I have mixed feelings though. I have yet to see temps above 80C and the noise is nonexistant, I can't hear the card over HAF 922 fans and Zalman CNPS x10 and that's at 840/1325.

MLAA is not good enough. I dont mind the text but nV SSAA or mixed modes are times beter for me, particularly in motion. It's a good idea for midrange cards but not enough for an IQ wh*re.

I know this isn't a flag for AA compatibility, but...
when runing "The Wither in SLI there is a light that shines thru objects. to fix it set SLI compatibility bits to 0x0240000D.

Fair enough. If you tried it and don't like it then it sounds like a 570 is the way to go. Good luck.

Have to add that MLAA in some games looks better than in the others and is very obvious then. I guess it needs time to mature.

What bothers me more is that I forced SGSSAA to Stalker SoC and in that particular game, nV SGSSAA really shines, I made some close - up comparisions and nV covers every edge at stunning quality. In fact x4SSAA + MLAA on AMD is no match for nV x4 SSAA in SoC. AMD picture just SSAAed is also blurred, that's ofc easy to solve but shame that I need to go 3rd party apps for this.

I'll do some other comparisions, remember that SSAA on 5850 looked great so probably just a one game issue.

Performance is ok and 2gb helps stuttering in Stalkers for example.

That ofc are only quick assumptions from short testing with release drivers made by a very busy man . I want to give that card a chance and try at least one whql driver, flash it ofc and reinstall win 7 to be sure.

In motion is most important for me. It looks v.good but can't hold the IQ from stable image like SSAA.

I like it and probably would find it sufficient if I didn't have a choice like SSAA.

Counting money for a 580 in fact, my 40nm path is 5850> 470> 480> 6950> ??? so 570> 580 in the end would really make me look like a fool

I was able to force AA in Viva Pinata using the STALKER AA compatibility flag (0x0000F0C1). It's something I was using successfully when I had my GTX 280 albeit I was limited to 2xMSAA due to performance hit.

I'll check when I get home but I believe that flag also allows AA to be forced in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood (I don't think the default profile has an AA flag from memory).

I've also managed to get AA working in Divinity II as well as it uses Gamebryo, the same engine that Oblivion uses. Again I'll check the setting I'm using later on and post the compatibility flag on here (I think it's the STALKER one though).

I wish I knew what the differences were between the flags used for various UE3 based games.

Most UE3 games use 000100C5.
Mass Effect uses 080100C5 - so more or less the same but there's 1 extra bit enabled.
And then a few, like Borderlands and Dark Void, use 00000045.

00000045 seems to have the biggest performance hit of the three.

Right now I'm playing Dark Void with PhysX on high, which for the most part, the GTX 570 is able to handle impressively. With AA off, fps drops no lower than 50 or so when the turbulent smoke effects are displayed. Enabling AA with the default compabitility value results in a pretty big hit though. Regardless of whether I use 2x or 4x AA, FPS will drop down into the mid 30s when the smoke effects are displayed. Obviously whatever rendering hack that AA compatibility value performs hits hard regardless of the level of AA.

I switched to using the Mass Effect value, 080100C5; AA still works and the performance is much better - dropping down no less 40-45fps with smoke. However, I don't know what, if any, draw back is with that. E.g. why didn't nVidia use it in the first place? For example, perhaps using this prevents the proper rendering of some effect that I just haven't noticed that I'm missing yet. So I'm hesitant to use it.
